First Day OTR
0500
- took the first feeder bus to hirer's place 2 bus stops away (actually can walk but lazy.. lol)
- start car, adjust seat, figure out where everything is... err... where is the handbrake?
- spend 5 mins laughing at myself (really laughed out damn loud) when i figured out the e-brake is foot brake
- come out from mscp got better reception... logon mdt, cashless, on gps... accidentally pressed the OP on the taxi meter (means I have to pay myslef $4.50)!
- turn out main road see a pax wave hand... before i can even on the hazard signal, one blue cab zapped in from dun know where and took the pax... relax!
- first pax on board 0545!
0600 - 1100
- tried out different ways of finding pax: sweep, png, hotel lobby, airport q, mbs taxi stand, ikea taxi stand...
- few times forget to start meter... two times pressed meter when no pax!
1100 - 1230
- breaktime @ geylang!
- dun think crooked hor... went to temple at geylang east to pray for smooth smooth and eat vegetarian lunch...
1230 - 1500
- street jobs all the way... tried to take calls but always too slow...
1500 - 1600
- agar agar know where the cng station is... juz drive relax relax along aye - come out to commonwealth ave west... woah... many red red heading same direction... follow sure wont wrong de..
- top up quite fast... while waiting... sum up collection - woah.. slightly more den expected...
- put busy and straight back to home base...
1600
- when handover still fell like haven done enough... but after dinner and a nice shower - den realised actually quite tired out..

No problem to any housing estate in Sg.....even I'm a taxi rookie those time.
Ask any drivers who been through $0.10 era, those time, where got can't find pax problem, taxi on the road also not much....basically is very routine, no brain job, just start engine, drive-pick-drop-drive-pick-drop.....sometime can do around 40-50 trips per day depending on my mood...
And bear in mind, all "sampan" those time, no sonata, epica or whatever ka to perform stunt on the road.....

finally, i got a taste of life of a taxi driver..
went to pump gas at toh tuck, come out go towards bt batok, pax board tell me bt batok driving centre, i dun even know where is it, so ask pax do you know hw to go, pax say yes, guide me all the way.. drop 1st pax off, then just turn into bt batok west ave 7, got old couple board, tell me bt panjang ring rd, my mind blank again.. so ask old man how to go.. old man say dun worry, i guide you all the way.. appreciate man.. come out carpark, got one lady flag, going bt batok polyclinic, die liao.. duno again, so ask again and again pax guide all the way..
in short, out of 7 pax today, 6 is all guided haha
only one go genting lane i know how to go
a lot to brush up man.. now i really salute those taxi bros who know their routes very well one.. sure it will be a long road to be like them

When I start....trips fare range from $3-$10 per trips, if you ever kanna $20, must be multiple stops type and take about an hour to complete...
Ever heard about old TD say...五���收.
Peak hour only $2 flat.....so if you multiply by 40-50 trips...where got huat...
But no stress whole day...except midnight, forever graveyard shift..

When I started, $2.40 and heard this start fare lasted very long...lol
We consider the unlucky 1, gone through the transition period...still remember when this 2 Sonata on trial, they purposely drive to AP T2...stop inside the queue...just to make TD gather and look see look see....and that Indian driver (every time see him in Comfort ad) damn ya ya....cannot touch this and that....wtf....
