First Day OTR
0500
- took the first feeder bus to hirer's place 2 bus stops away (actually can walk but lazy.. lol)
- start car, adjust seat, figure out where everything is... err... where is the handbrake?
- spend 5 mins laughing at myself (really laughed out damn loud) when i figured out the e-brake is foot brake
- come out from mcsp got better reception... logon mdt, cashless, on gps... accidentally pressed the OP on the taxi meter (means I have to pay myslef $4.50)!
- turn out main road see a pax wave hand... before i can even on the hazard signal, one blue cab zapped in from dun know where and took the pax... relax!
- first pax on board 0545!

very common frm 12-6am got cabs fight with u for pax 1....... :P -

tried out different ways of finding pax: sweep png, hotel lobby, airport q, mbs taxi stand, ikea taxi stand...
few times forget to start meter... two times pressed meter when no pax!
1100 - 1230
breaktime @ geylang!
dun think crooked hor... went to temple at geylang east to pray for smooth smooth and eat vegetarian lunch...
1230 - 1500
street jobs all the way... tried to take calls but always too slow...
1500 - 1600
agar agar know where the cng station is... juz drive relax relax along aye - come out to commonwealth ave west... woah... many red red heading same direction... follow sure wont wrong de..
top up quite fast... while waiting... sum up collection - woah.. slightly more den expected...
put busy and straight back to home base...

when handover still fell like haven done enough... but after dinner and a nice shower - den realised actually quite tired out..

first day for khoon? enjoy ur first month. always enjoyable. why? cos no high revenue target

when aln first started. touch the steering wheel also very happy pax go where also can. empty also can after few month, parang anyhow fly. drive not so shiok liao. knn

Now i know TCL ever say to me what he mean....i nowadays very relax now more ciong ciong ciong...4pm start 12 am keep some days even early like 11.30pm...friday, sat ciong abit late...more rest for me...more time to press handphone...

First time taxi driving is usually enjoyable. It is fun because you are always going somewhere new, somewhere you never been before. Even if just break even, there is a certain sense of satisfaction. After one year, things will change. Once you know the roads, the best routes, it becomes boring. Either finding chit chat friends, or indulging in vices, or even flouting LTA rules sometimes. Then you start to feel like taxi driving is the most condemn profession in the world. :)

wait till forever no feeder bus come.. end up took cab over to base... contributed $5 to a fellow TD!

first pax!

sweep... sweep... sweep... juz pick n go...
after 3 pax no connection - break time! eat breakfast at bendemeer...
head MBS since near town... short Q... 5 mins pick up couple go some 81... head back MBS again... 3 mins wait... seng kang... finally out of town!
never key loc surcharge... 6 dollars less... ha ha... treat as pay school fees...
stop at caltex... shi shi... stretch...
rounding no pax... break time! drive down punggol road till the end look at the sea and stretch stretch..

carry on break.. put busy head to maju camp - see godson... fellow kenan duty on sunday... suay sia... ha ha.... lucky got tis god pa buy lunch giv him..

i dun like monday and tuesday especially between 12pm to 3pm, never did well at this timing most of the time on these 2 days... that's why if i want to throw rental and rest, it will be either one of this 2 days... like today, throw rental and relax at home

Hey bro's khoon is a very nice chap, do guide him more, he will be taking over my cab in 1 or 2 months time when I leave this job, n yes he drives my red Ferrari, after letting my car out, I felt that I m not alone in the taxi world.... It's feels good

Not when i was a OMO .
I on the dot 7.30am started , 12pm , knock off .
Can fetch rental and diesel then .
4pm start to hunt for my targetted salary .

Interesting Observations and Habits for past three days:
Start Shift After 3rd Pax sure break go toilet
Nite TDs never give chance... at the other side of the road also can u-turn cut three lanes to jip pax...
Early Morning kenan town muz crack brians where to find connect pax...

thanks to this forum and few old birds during TVDL course!
i read tru a lot of the postings to tap on the experience... and from the experience tat few of the TDs who kenan re-take TVDL shared with us...
actually veri simple... when i was a pax... where wait veri long cannot get cab will be the places i will think of going to find pax...
driving taxi muz relax... tired or no connect pax after rounding - Break!
earn enough keep...
