4 Weeks Jail For Taking Upskirt Shots
A plucky woman grabbed the shirt of a voyeur who had taken upskirt shots of her with the camera phone while both of them were on an MRT escalator.
Yesterday, Singapore Polytechnic student Goh Jin Rong, 22, admitted to insulting the modesty of the 21 year-old- woman and was jailed for four weeks,
He was at Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station in Orchard Road at about 4.30pm on 18 May 2006 when he surreptitiously took upskirt video clips of the salesgirl.
The victim turned around and caught him in the act. She then grabbed his shirt and called for help.
Some people nearby helped her detain Goh until the police arrived.
GohÂ’s cellphone was checked and found to contain a video clip and an upskirt pictures of the victim.
Goh tendered a written plea in mitigation.
District Judge Wong Peck said Goh had behaved in an anti-social manner. -

There has been a spike in such cases in the past few years.
Police statistics show that there were 50 cases in 2006, up by 11 compared to the previous year. In 2004, there were 28 cases. -
Meanwhile, the court adjourned to 23 Jan 08 the case of system engineer Ong Boon Leng, 35, charged earlier with two counts of taking upskirt shots of two teenage students at Kinokuniya Book Shop at Ngee Ann City on 27 May 2006.

22yrs old okay lah but i know ppl of 30,40++ still going poly nia.. not one not tow but whole bunch of them.. neither do i want to see lao aunties everyday for three years instead of the lovely xmms..zzzzz Oh Wad the fcuk.....zzzzzz -

Polytechnics are considered tertiary institutions of educations. Unlikes secondary schools and JCs, there are no age limits.
While majority of the students are secondary school leavers, and some JC students, there are still vacancies available for ITE students who have done well enough to qualify for polytechnic education. Usually, these students would have completed their 2 year national service and would start Polytechnic education at the age of 22 or 23.
There is no "rightful" place for secondary school leavers. Secondary school students who did not perform well for their O level to qualify for Polytechnic education are given the chance to advance to Polytechnic through ITE. So please do not take placings in Polytechnics for granted.
To all secondary school leavers: This country does NOT owe you an education. Spare us these brain farts that think otherwise.
