Is McAllister too old??

  Gerard Houllier has made his latest signing, the 35 year old Coventry guru McAllister. What do you think is the rationale behind this?

  McAll say that GH bought him to bring experience into the team as well as cover. And I think that is right. Liverpool average squad age only 23. Young and inexperience. A player of McAll's calibre would surely be very much welcome.

  But didn't Paul Ince and McAllister perform the same role in midfield?? Paul Ince is gone now, but in comes McAllister??
