Possible to b web savvy w/o goin' thro courses?

Is it possible 2 b web savvy, ie having great skills in designing web, n anything connected with the web without having to master HTML, java language..etc..or ...go thro programm courses, ...etc
Your feedback will be much appreciated. -
You will have to 'master HTML, java language..etc', but that can be done without going through courses. (I have never attended a single web-related course b4)

I believe that you do not have to go through courses, that is, you are a totally determined person. But a little course to clear your mind would be pretty much okay too. There are plenty of schools that provide courses, lik poly's (short courses at poly's are available) Private schools like informatics (tho ermm .. not recommended due to personal experience) And freelance tutors to provide you with courses like adobe photoshop and dreamweaver.
But it all rest on the person itself. Depending if the person who is looking for a job in IT, naturally job specs would look for a *qualified person in paper* so thus you would need courses, but unless youre doing this for the love and fun of it, by all means self study is the best way, theres nothing like self learning and hands on practice that can never replace boring lectures.

BTW what self taught courses are you taking right now? Hey manz, if you have any graphics or multimedia stuff count me in also.
I love graphics, but they are a pain to pay, sigh~~
