  There you see each week results! First league in S'pore to be done in this maner!!!

  hm, actually different alley got different leagues, with differing scoring systems.
  got 10-pt system, 20-pt system, round robin system, with trios, or foursome format.
  
  using the planet bowl tue trios league as an example, (20-pt system, 4 games, trios)
  
  player vs player (1st bowler vs 1st bowler, 2nd vs 2nd and so on..)
  each bowler can get maximum 5 pts, (4 from games, 1 from overall)
  therefore 3 bowlers maximum 15pts
  
  Team game (team overall score for 1st game, 2nd game, and so on...)
  maximum 5 pts (4 from games, 1 from overall)
  
  therefore this is a 20 pt system league...something like that...
  
  then got handicap for bowlers, generally, the more handicap a bowler have, the 'lousier' he is... though some bowlers will 'cheat' on their handicap by lowering their scores when they play against weaker opponents so that they can 'ta-rek' their handicap...this is a common yet unprofessional practice, not allowed in the 'Code of Conduct' in league...

  Handicap, usually the centre will use a base, ard 180 ~ 200.
  and the way of calculation is not quite standard,
  
  usually...
  
  (base score - avg) / 2 for guys;
  
  for ladies, (base score - avg) x 2/3 ... hope i dun get this wrong..

  but if u are playing for the first time how do they give u the handicap?

  our tue league at Planet Bowl, CSC will not end so soon, think there are abt 8 more wks to go...
  
  Come and take a look at how the league goes, maybe u'll understand more from there. =)

  Do come take a look at the league atmosphere. I don't think you'll find many leagues that are nicer to be around than the CSC league. You'll still find the usual:
  
  - revless straight shooting high scoring uncles
  - brash youngsters with huge swings and heaps of revs
  - nasty pin 10s on perfect shots and strikes on chapalang shots
  - spinners, 'nuff said
  
  But it's a much cleaner place, without smoke and nonsense pin 5 & 10 betting people... and of course, there's Team F.O.S....

  Don't worry James,
  
  I'm sure Team F.O.S. will continue to forge on in the next season.
  Every season we shuffle a member or 2. If there is room available, I'm sure we'll invite bowlers from Sgforums to join us, and you could just be the one!

  u need to work out on yr tactics and style

  Nice effort fellas.... we managed to garner 9 pts against Team Simple last night.
  
  I don't have the score sheet with me right now, but WX put up a great effort garnering 4 pts, and Magey boy getting 2 pts. However, our dear Captain did not get his sightings set carefully.......
  
  Not to worry! We now look ahead to next week's contest.

  Hmm this thread has been inactive for 2 weeks!
  
  Is everyone ready to STEAM~Roller our opponents tonight?!
  
  Hopefully all Team FOS members can come down tonight, so that we can take individual photos to update the website.
  
  Can make it, Joo? - Can do some after league bowling as well. I think the rest are all coming down except Steven/Iggy. James, if you can make it, do join us as well.
