Obviously, I'm too old to join any bowling club associated with school.
What I'm looking for is club associated with country clubs or companies or bowling centre. -
y dun u introduce urself? age, gender, bowling style, average, etc...

Now most of u belong to your school's bowling clubs. Have you all thought about what happens after you complete ur education? Do you look for companies with bowling clubs? Or do u, like some of my older friends, play league every week and leave it as that?
Do not be mistaken , I do not mean bowling in leagues is boring, it is just that it seems to be aimless. Every week just go and throw some balls, then thats that. Is that it? I hate to imagine myself doing the above for life. I want to have an objective.
Just some two cent thoughts. Have anyone consider about how their future in this sport is gonna be?

I think league's great! It allows me to meet friends whom I don't get to otherwise (different schools; different jobs in the future) and makes bowling interesting.
Consider this: it's way worse squeezing in just a couple of practice sessions per week. That's even worse because you're only playing for the sake of playing. In a league, at least there's some form of competitiveness and adrenaline rush. And for those of us who are not good enough to enter national tournaments, that means the only outlet for competitive play. And the fact that it's a league makes every shot count. That's something leisure bowling can never duplicate. It's like the football league we all watch on telly.

As most of us know, CDL (City Development Ltd) has a very strong bowling 'department', sometimes, i wonder if bowling's a prerequisite to be able to work there.
After studies, i see myself bowling in leagues with friends, i don't think i would want to have it any other way. -
all i can do is bowl leagues and fri is reserved for training... at nites..after work. wat more can i ask for? good friends great bowlers and of course bowling

I do agree with both airgrinder and harmz.
League games might give you the competitive edge that hone your bowling technique but maybe we should not neglect the fun side of bowling.
Although, i've not played in any league games, I believe you have to keep on your toes n concentrate during the league games.
The training sessions might just provide the chance to fool around n crack jokes without really getting stressed out by a competitive game. And that might be how you really enjoy the fun side of the sport just like how we enjoy those times we trained at safra resort and grassroots.
and of course to improve your skills.
At least I find them most enjoyable and hope we can still do that even after we graduate. -
of Course we can still meet up for a play session or two! Anytime. Provided Chuan's finger doesn't get injured. Again. The finger's like Darren Anderton - sicknote. HAHAHAHA!!

Win enough tournaments, rack up the cash, buy myself a new right arm, good as new. -
Chuan, you can always try Bu Jingyun's method. In case you forgot who he is, he is the one with the maggie mee hair.
He chopped off his left arm but there was another man who transfer his powerful arm to him. MAYBE you can try removing your 'sick' finger in the hope of some kind soul with a powerful finger to transfer to you?
Then you can well save up your money to buy a new right arm! hmmmm.... :p

woh! chuan, wat happen to ur right? there was this interesting history of a female american bowler who could use both hands. Seems she is originally a righty, but a car accident hurt her right hand so bad that the doc says she can't bowl on that hand anymore. So, she trains her left. A few years down the road, her right recovered. I'm sure u'll can guess the next part: she now can bowl with both her paws. Seems to me she reserved her right for strikes and left for spares, but both hands can strike or spare. Heard she retired a few years ago from a friend, cause of back injury.

yeap, my obj now is to improve on by bowling techniques and get to meet to meet more friends. That's also why I held the toury at Classic. I also do see myself bowling regularly with friends in leagues in the future, but if there are a few friendly tourys every now and then, I think my bowling in future would simply be great!

outta sch...no training...league that's ending...that's my situation now...
wanna better my bowling but dun think it's gonna be very easy to do so...have a target but unless my dad stops breathing down my neck to get a job...dun think it'll work out...

The proshop operator at Taman Jurong superbowl - Jimmy Lim, i think - is ambidextrous too. And he averages over 200 with either.
There are no rules governing the use of a single hand during tourneys, as long as you register all balls (left/right handed) properly.
I think the only chance I have of wearing national team colours is if my doppleganger made the squad, and I switch places with him. -

Sorry for the late reply Jae. I'm over 30yo. I'm male, bowling style right hand hook and my average between 160-170. I bowl a least once a week at Safra Resort cos of my tight working schedule I can only bowl on weekend.

the qualifying is a three game series bowled at classic. $7 using league scores, $25 otherwise. One can have any number of tries provided he/she pays the fees accordingly. If u qualified, then more fees. Other criteria being u have to be a PBC member or STBC member or the like for at least sometime before the tournament to qualify. Not very sure of how long the "sometime" must be. More info can be found from Classic Bowl.
