yeah yeah !! i dunno how to spell synthetic.. *paiseh*Originally posted by Player1:I think she's asking how to tell the difference between a synthetic lane and a wooden lane.
I havent raelly got an idea, but I did see wooden lanes before..if SSC's lanes are wooden that is. Color is darker...i think I can see grains. Synthetic lanes are smooth....and if I'm not wrong...there's something about the oil too. Like the changing of the oil is difference...
Nick, I think u said before but cant remember.
i dun really get what u mean.Originally posted by Ian:another point u may wanna note btwn syn and wood lanes.
syn lanes oil flows up, towards the 'dry area' creating carry down,
and making the heads 'dryer'
but wood lanes, they tend to flow outwards and down, where in this case, down means in between the wood grains thus making the lanes 'dryer' and the ball either bite harder, or start biting earlier.
yes, i know that.Originally posted by OR|G|N|ck:track shoes?
sigh.....then i guess you would be interested in dexters.
However it is advisable to look for functionality before looks
:>
To each his/her own.............
Lane has generally two parts. The front or the heads (the 1st 30-40 ft) and the backends (the final 20 ft). The front is oiled, while the backends are not oiled.Originally posted by [L]inG_eR:i dun really get what u mean.
but i know when i throw the ball out.. wood lane give me a better sound
No,...hence terrible lanes...

For wood lanes, oil displace by the ball tend to seep into the gaps in-between the strips of wood (or boards). Hence less carrydown.
i get it liao !!! so paiseh, i very blur 1Originally posted by airgrinder:Lane has generally two parts. The front or the heads (the 1st 30-40 ft) and the backends (the final 20 ft). The front is oiled, while the backends are not oiled.
For synthetic lanes, oil will move down the lane as it is being displace by the balls you throw. This will create a wet backend (carrydown) and a dryer front area.
