Thanks to Mage for asking me to try the "flick wrist" thingy...didn't know whether i do it correctly, and its not consistent... but i did get more snap at the back. In fun bowling though..with 221 to show for my efforts. HEEEEEEE..... -

I thought the calculation is (200-average) / 2
Just my thought if the base is 200.
And for ladies its (200-average) x 2/3
Always thought that is the standard. Unless otherwise specified by the league. See the notice board for more details. -

for raw scores below 160, your handicap is calculate using a 160! meaning, ur score is upped to 160 for calculating of handicap purposes only.
Hence score1+score2+score3 =a
200-(a/3) = b
handicap = b/2
point to note: example 3.5 is round off to 3! not 4!!

That is correct. Your scratch scores of 151, 157 and 180 are upgraded to 160, 160 and 180.
160 + 160 + 180 = 500.
So handicap is (200 - (500/3))/2 =16.67 which rounds up to 17.
Let's say if you hit scratch 186, 142 and 171 for your next session. Your upgraded scores to use for handicap would be 186, 160 and 171.
186 + 160 + 171 = 517 (upgraded total session 2)
Now, your total number of games played is 6, and your total upgraded pinfall would be:
500 (session 1) + 517 (session 2) = 1017.
Your new handicap would be (200-(1017/6)) = 15.25 rounded to 15.

P1, if you can do that, you'll be the best sandbagger on the planet. Yeah, that's the best option, of course. You provide 4 points for the team week in and week out, plus you keep your average low enough to qualify for the monthly tourneys. Let's see just how you manage that. -

i was trying it again today.
however, backend wasn't that snappy anymore (i didn't cup my wrist throughout). abit more predictable, less hook but more speed.
i used to cup my wrist throughout then break alittle before flicking it up again.
now i dun cup wrist, but never break also, then at the bottom of downswing, flick it up...but couldn't really get the hang of it.
Accuracy not there also....sighz.
Must keep trying!!!

i am seriously off form and not confident of even hitting a 150 game now. and in classic, where my games are never good except in the competitions, i really really doubt i should play. i would be more of a liabiltiy than an asset. just like my soccer.

Ian Wong, 2 pts won (never win 3 pts, but still called ian..) handicap also now 14 and $1 fine!!!
Nick, 0 pts won (opponent also dun seen to deserve handicap of 14) handicap is now 5.
team overall we won 3 points, so total won 9, lost 11.
overall table...too long for me to write.......so, nevermind.
We didnt do so bad this week, just don't deserve to lose by handicap. Maybe we ought to use handicap as strategy too? -
