Right now, it'll be 6 a side. That's just about enough. If Shariff won't expand the league, let's take the space of a team that's puling out. Just tell him that if any team pulls out, we'll take it's place and field two sides.
i'll sign tim mack and kimmo lehtonen on a 30m transfer fee each then!

i'm starting to think that with more committment and more playing time naturally, we will definitely level up faster.

Actually, Harmz, 6 or 7 is very good. First of all, it obviously gives each one much more opportunities to bowl. Secondly, you'll bond quickly because you'll be bowling with mostly the same faces in out, in out, much easier to develop a stable chemistry.Originally posted by harmzuay:I'm not doing my sums wrongly. HOWEVER, you must get committed bowlers! Or rather, bowlers who put bowling higher on their priority list, rather than those that has too many commitments elsewhere. And also, it's a tad too little for my liking. I think 8 is just nice, myself.
And even then sometimes it's not enough. I have 12 bowlers on my Thursday Katong team and I STILL have trouble finding 4 each week. I'm one of the culprits myself.
Clown, we haven't forgotten about you, or anyone. But we have to let Emperor Hanz get clearance from Shariff to start up a 2nd team, otherwise all this ramble is just academic, anyway. -

but like i said, after exams, things should be alot more "relaxed" and that should allow us to committ full time to monday league.

Allrite guys here's the lowdown.
I called Shariff this morning and enquired about forming 2 teams....
He says the league will be expanding with 3 on the waiting list, so with us that makes 4!
In other words, we can form 2 teams already, and I've told Shariff to put another team up for us. And assuming all on waiting list joins, the total no. of teams joining would be 16, which equals to 32 rounds of bowling!
OK, now that's settled, and can i gather that u guys are in favour of forming 2 teams, the question now is....how do u all wanna split?
Do u guys want to choose urselves, want me to choose for u all, or we do a random draw(which is highly impossible...)....? -

I am fine with which team, but maybe the team would suffer cos of my lousy game.

hmmm...16 teams, 32 weeks.
My suggestion is to split such that half of each team's bowlers are students and the other half are working people. That is under the assumption that all those not studying are working. In this way, the team won't be walkover-ed during exam period.
Alternatively, we can also stand in a line from the tallest to the shortest and 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2.....

Hmm....i'm thinking of splitting the bowlers into two categories.
1) Readily Available
Bowlers who fall under this category can be called upon for league duty 90% of the time, for those who usually keep monday nights free.
Example : Me! (MINDEF super bo-liao knock off at 5.30.... )
2) May or may not be available
Bowlers falling under this category have other commitments eg work, and thus may not be available come monday nite.
Example : Prataman , who works shifts and thus may/may not be available
Then from this groupings we select bowlers to form teams.
Less chance of conceding walkovers this way

Ok, let me begin then.
I'm most definitely, as Hanzz has pointed out, in Category 2. I am only available if my work roster schedule allows, and also a variety of domestic affairs may compromise availability.
Although I must admit there are some bowlers that I would rather prefer to bowl with, ultimately I would not mind joining either squad.
Furthermore, I am more than willing to keep track of stats for both teams if necessary.
Oh... psst, by the way, hee hee... 16 teams mean 30 sessions, cos teams don't against themselves! Ngiak ngiak ngiak. -
Okay...thanks prataman for pointing out that we have 30 weeks of bowling and not 32....

i think for a majority of us are facing our final exams in about two months time. After that, we'll all be working.
So i don't think breaking by exam schedules is too wise... since the league goes on for a long while after that. Except for people who know for sure where they stand, most of us should be free.
I would be group one. Unless I later get a job that changes that. But nobody can predict that, so i'm in group one. -
