Hmmm.... is it this link that you enteredOriginally posted by the Bear:Hmmm.. looks like I'm not the only one who found SIM's page sorely lacking.
Maybe if you tell them when there, and I call them to tell them, and others also, they'll do something about their less-than-informative page?

Never really dwell into it but there's lots of courses available.
Else you may like to call them up to talk to their customer service officers who can recommend a course to your requirements
I recommend that a trip be made to see for yourself the environment and facilities available. There's a nice customer service area where you can seek advices/help
the UK course for business side shld be from UOL ( UNi of London), its a very theoretical course as far as i saw the subjects...Originally posted by the Bear:Nope.. the one was the one XLN mentioned.. there was a login, password and there were few other things.. and there seemed to be one UK course like XLN mentioned..

1)decide what appeals to you in a daily business setting. Marketing? FInance? Hr? Admin? Management?
2) Decide on your mode of study. Full or Part time or online.
3) Look at different Instituions in Singapore, see which one offers the one u like. for this i suggest u look at the following:
a) SIM
b) MIS
c) MDIS
4) Once u decided, then its time to check on the university, if everything is ok, then sign up for it.

ok MIS - Marketing Institute Of Singapore: It basically offers course from Curtin University banking on Marketing subjects. They do have Marketing and Finance double majors.Originally posted by Xiao Long Nu:btw wats MIS?? i tink SMU i canot get into it...anyway..i tink distance is also a problem...cos i gona study part time....quite tirin when work finish travel so far to study then go home...bt is a small problem...anyway me look thru for more than 1 yr liao...keep wastin time ....tink nw nt young liao . so decide to take a degree course....i hope to take bus mayb in finance n economics....bt the ting nw is...i dono which universities offered in sg open univ is gd for tat...i need to confirm is a recognise one b4 i go take mah...wait waste money
oic...MIS.....bt i dn tink i takin Marketing.....eh btw i heard of ppl takin marketin frm informatics....informatics degree cos gd or nt? i tink like alot of ppl complain leh..dono issit recognised?Originally posted by gasband:ok MIS - Marketing Institute Of Singapore: It basically offers course from Curtin University banking on Marketing subjects. Where is your workplace? I noe SIM in clementi, MIS is in Pasir Panjang (near WTC), then MDIS is dependent on the course u take.
Whether recognised or not is very subjective. Recognised by who? If in Public Sector, such degrees may not be recognised. I got a fren took a degree from SIM but then kena rejected by MOE becos they dun recognised that Cert. But in Private Sector, u have lesser fears cos most companies, bar a few is concerned only u have a ddegree, doesnt really matter where it comes from unless yours is from africa or wat.....
in my view, MIS and SIM has good courses from recognised uni.
Informatics doesnt seem that good....i dun noe cos i got no frens there...Originally posted by Xiao Long Nu:oic...MIS.....bt i dn tink i takin Marketing.....eh btw i heard of ppl takin marketin frm informatics....informatics degree cos gd or nt? i tink like alot of ppl complain leh..dono issit recognised?
wow SIM gt rejected frm MOE ahh...weird i tout SIM is recognised.....
oic.....aiyo thats y mus consider all these factors before choosin a cos to study on..Originally posted by gasband:Informatics doesnt seem that good....i dun noe cos i got no frens there...
Well its not SIM that matters as i told u, its the University that offers the Cert. Even though hers is RMIT, the subjects she studied was not relevant, so MOE rejected her.
