Katong SilverBowl Thursday Foursome League - Leg 2

This week, we did a "professional" job against the 2nd placed team Swee Seng. By that I meant "we didn't get totally blown away".
Far from it. We actually pinched 7 points away from them, losing by the score of 7-13. I don't know about you, but that to me is a cause for delight. I'd bet they hadn't lost a team game against a relegation club (we're 10th of 12th) for ages.
Admittedly, they didn't shoot the lights out, and perhaps we could have gotten a bit more... but still, I'm not complainin'. Let's not be too greedy here.
Mage took on arguably one of the center's best lao-jiaos and came away with 3 points. WX, Jay and myself each took 1 game, and we won our final team game by quite a margin! (with hdcp! oops!)
Anyway, this coming Thursday, we face the team Blue Lobster, who are no slouches themselves. Who wants a piece of them seafood?! Submit your entries now!! Ding, you're not in Wed action this week, you ready to go? -

not trying to say anything funny but precaution is better. try to take more vitamin C daily, drink more water, less heaty stuff... -

Looks like our squad got the receiving end of the barbeque grill this time around. Well, hmmm..... Ding did particularly well, on the lanes anyway. Tom gave a good account of himself too, I'm quite pleased with that.
Look foward to next session then. A simpler team awaits, "Bowling Unlimited". Let's inflict bowling pain on them this week, shall we?

Yo Prata, will definitely try my best to get my shift changed and play this Thursday, but will confirm with you again. Lately, a LOT of staff seems to book thursdays as morning shift and thus i'm unable to get. Sorry!

Interesting news.
Counter staff called me yesterday to request all (remaining) captains to an emergency meeting on Thur 7.30pm.
Seems like 3 of the teams have quit the league very recently, and the management is considering scrapping leg 3, or even immediately.
I do not know why the teams quit though. Strangely enough, we aren't talking about cellar dwellars. Even the 3rd placed team also quit....
Anyway, will keep you folks updated tomorrow evening. But the league, to my knowledge, will still proceed as planned tomorrow.
Tomorrow's lineup would be WX, Ding, Brendan and Hayden. Wanted Phua to play to complete the 'old bird quartet', but he wasn't free and Hayden very kindly and timely volunteered. I appreciate that.

Mgmt has decided to cut the league short by 1 leg (11 weeks).
For what reasons the 3 teams want to quit, I'm afraid I can't advise you cos I don't know either.
We did win last night by the margin on 12.5 - 7.5! Great job guys. Especially Hot Chick. Astounded us with his FuNkY moves to *THUMP* his opponent 4-0. (or was that the sound of his drop ball, hmmm gotta think about that)
Anyway, after last night, there are thus, only 2 weeks remaining in the league season. Here's the good news!! We're now in 8th place! Bad news, it's now out of 9 teams. Ho ho ho. We're about 16 points behind the 7th placed team, but all is not lost. Yet.
Why? Because, gentlemen, we have 2 walkovers coming up. Yep. The 2 teams we were supposed to face for the last 2 weeks of the leg are those which bolted. So... we have very very high potential for 40 of 40 points!
Who wishes to play against Shadow Opponents for the final week? Anyone is confident of getting 130 (WITH HANDICAP!) please sign up!
Next week's slots have already been decided. Tom, Jae, JPS and myself will take to the lanes. -
