doink : I know exactly what u mean....I've driven a couple of EG6....and although its already a pretty old model(abt 8-9 yrs??)....it still remains my most realistic dream car till today....that feeling of being pushed right back into ur seat by the surge of the Vtec....juz like u described it....in "Vtec heaven"....think any serious hobby driver worth his salt would know what I mean........think I will still make a beeline for it once I can afford it....might be a long time to come though....hope it will still be in existence by then....
BTW....I was kind of disappointed to see the new civic....range topper only at 130bhp....what on earth is honda thinking abt??
Well....getting ur 2A in january huh....good luck....will be going for my class 2 abt that time too....then its CBR1100XX time....if i can afford it that is....maybe we can go get licence together?? -
Yes the EG6 is indeed one of the quickest 1.6l around, its teardrop like shape is also one of the most rarest and most beautiful...

Maybe when i sell my EG6 in two or three years time, i can reserve it for you? heheh.
New civic... i guess Honda's targetting towards the family market nowadays. Its past sales has been losing to competitors like Hyundai and Nissan, gotta buck up?!? cannot keep manufacturing high depreciation 160bhp machines that only youngsters will buy... hahah.
Anyway, if you're really into cars, look into importing yourself.
Motor... sure, where do u take urs? i probably be taking mine at SSDC cos that's where i took my 2B. hey, when u get ur CBR, make sure i'm your first pillion alright? its one of my dream bikes.

doink : I muz admit the EG6 is one of the most beautiful japanese roadster around....but I actually prefer the EK series if its a 4 door saloon....think its fiercer looking....as compared to the meeker looking EG.... peronal preference....
as for the civic....think the previous SIR has got a 170 bhp powerplant....but pls correct me if i am wrong....as for the shift in target comsumer base....i agree....but then again....with the new civic range topper priced at abt the same as the SIR....i dun see why anybody....even family men....would want to pay the same for a lesser machine....honda would juz be losing out on the younger customers who demands performance....
actually....if i have to import a performance civic....think i would juz settle for a porsche boxster....not much more expensive....but super glam....and not too bad performance....but if i am really into importing....think i rather go for a mod up skyline GTR....think TP also give up....sure cannot catch....smell tyre maybe....but that remains a dream.....
think I would be taking my class 2 at BBDC....*sigh*....so i suppose we can't take it together........as for the CBR1100XX.... I am actually still considering....whether to buy the BlackBird....or to save up for my EG6....*sigh*....dilemma....as for ur fantasy....think u dun need a BlackBird to do that....super 4 enuf liao....0-100 kmh in approx 6 seconds....think enuf to get ahead of any merc from standstill....with quite a bit to spare too....but the only drawback....topspeed at only 175 kmh....power cut at 12000 rpm....sianz....if its a blackbird....think the merc driver wouldn't even know what hit him....he wouldn't even be able to finish saying "its a bird...."....hehe....an earthquake....no....but almost definitely a typhoon for the pillion....hehe....honda bikes are well known for its silky smooth and relatively silent engine....of totally different when fitted with after mkt exhuast....can be quite deafening....

Yes, same here too about the 4dr saloon. Ek looks much fiercer! The front lights are much more agressive.!
Really? is the new civic priced the same as the Sir? then its time they changed their entire marketing team!?! HaHa...
Have yet to test drive the new comer, but reviews havent been good from anywhere, other than the DJ on the radio advertising the Civic's back "flat ground" for the 3rd passenger behind.
Skyline Gtr... hmmm, almost every car fanatic's dream machine? Let's all dream together shan't we? Me... havent been able to appreciate the skyline yet, hopefully with due time i will get the chance...
Can't give any suggestion on the bike or the car cos both delivers maximum satisfaction. Guess on the practicality side of life's viewpoint, a car would be more worth it... but to compare it with any Class 2 bike would be senseless...
My dream would be to have best of both worlds. To own an obtainable "dream car", and a "spare" class 2 bike. That would be sufficient. -
Wrx & Evo have only seen, have never driven nor sat in it. Really... still waiting for the chance.

Think honda's gonna flop big this time round....way too ex for a mid size family saloon....n I think the flat ground thing is really quite useless....except if the middle back passenger is a lady with a short, tight skirt....but still....think there are better alternatives....
I'll bet my last dollar that the new toyota corolla's gonna blast every other brand out of the way....at least till someone comes out with something better....I had the opportunity to test drive the new corolla....much more driveable....smooth n silent engine....n the new VVTi engine is quite "punchy" too....should not beat the civic....but its an improvement....plus the pricing....where the range topping 1.6(A) executive cost less than 100K....with leather seats, leather upholstry n the works.... definitely value for money....in fact Borneo Motors had sold more than 2000 units even before the official launch....
I totally agree that a car is definitely more practical than a bike for daily use....provided u can afford it....
Well....I had quite a few encounters with my "dream cars"....had a go on a 500SL....hit 220kmh on ECP....topless!!can imagine the state of upheaval after the ride....hehe....test drove a reasonably mod up WRX once....was really one hell of an experience....the first time I really felt the car had more than I dare to push it for........took a ride in an EVO IV once....quite awesome....think its more refined compared to the WRX....had the good fortune of diving thru town....in a prosche boxster....nothing much to say abt its performance....but juz check out the stares u get....esp from the babes in other cars....had a good time acting cool....hehe....
But then again....dream cars will remain in my dreams....for now....wake up....LL go start my super 4....*sigh*

ehh....I may be ignorant....but i dun thing mercedes ever produced a 5000cc SLK....somehow i feel the car's too small to accomodate such a huge capacity engine........think Ruth meant 500SL??
As for the challenge....hmmm....is there a better place?? tuas end maybe....near the SAF heli repel site??think might br safer....as in TP free....hehe....
I juz had a challenge the day before....from an ah pek in a SLK200....topless one....damn not shy....drive SLK challenge a poor guy who juz wants to get home quick....driving a nearly 10 yrs old corolla....1.3 only somemore....pulled up beside me....gave me a smirk....drop behind me....flash headlights....damn arrogant....so the racer in me took over....hehe....
heres the detailed account........was on PIE....decided to give it a try....afterall....if a SLK beats an old corolla....no big deal....expected....but if I win....hehe....then it juz proves my belief...."ITS THE MAN WHO DRIVES THE CAR...."hehe....so I drop to 3rd gear....drag until engine going to burst....saw the SLK get smaller on my rear mirror....thought i misunderstood his intentions....but saw him getting bigger....and in no time....he was up behind me....decided that if i stay on the expressway....sure no fight....so exit PIE towards CTE city....u all know??the curvy link??....anyway....push my dad's old car to the limit....but think I approached the corner too fast....abt 130kmh....i thought this time siao liao....cfm flip....but i kept my cool....hehe....a few hard taps on the brakes....skidded a little before i went in the corner....felt the backside lift off....panic....but a sharp swing of the steering wheel in the opposite direction took it down....with a thud....hehe....this time think suspension gone....haha....think my dad haven't notice....hengz....but by the time i got out of the corner and onto CTE....the SLK....cannot see!!!!hahahaha....maybe old man knows better than to play with his life??....but he caught up on CTE....pulled up beside....gave me a smile and a thumbs up....quite sporting for a merc driver....
As for the challenge here....maybe we can meet up and exchange a few pointers....but a race??dun think so....hehe....think my dad's old car cannot take it anymore....hiakz....but then again....if u provide the car....I'll be glad to drive....

Pasir Gudang... nah, not for me at the moment to drive there with my own car. First, i'm only its owner for 3 mths, have yet to fully "understand" it. and secondly, i can't afford the maintenance of bringing the car to the track... dont forget, P.G. IS a really hard track!
i've got a bunch of friends going as well, they all own hondas, mostly civics.

DarkRage : Think Mercedes really never ever produced such a big capacity SLK....but i do know that Brabus....and AMG....to name a few....does fit mercedes with after market engines(heavily mod mercedes engine??), parts etc....sometimes close to even rebuilding the whole car....but nopez....dun think any stock SLK comes in the 6.0L variety........more like customised.... ....and I think there are only 2(or is it 4??) AMG mercedes in singapore....all C class....
Heyz....judging by the response on this topic....think we have quite a few car fanatics ard....maybe the bowling club can set up a subsidiary??motoring club??heh....juz a suggestion....

DarkRage : I think we have a little misunderstanding here....if you would refer back to my earlier posting....I mentioned that MERCEDES don't produce such big capacity SLKs....ie there are no big capacity stock SLKs....and not that big capacity SLKs don't exist....afterall....if you have the money....you can fit whatever you want into whatever car....just make sure TP don't catch you....
Hope this clears up whatever misunderstanding you may have about what I've posted....

DR... i got a better idea.
We do two rounds lah, first you lead then after that i lead. Cos i think with the traffic especially pedestrians, its quite dangerous to corner round the bends.
I guess its something like the Initial D part 2 if u've seen it... heheh!
Rando can still join us, but he'll have to follow us behind due the nature of his car.
So end of the day, the one following behind just tries to stay behind the leader. if can hold on behind, its no lose... dont even need to overtake the bugger!
BUT... if the leader kanna overtaken...(shit, hope that's not me?!) then the winner in both skills and car is obvious. -
