Just tell him about his book. Pls dun talk about the other book because he dun like it. Yap, the books are in Old type Chinese, because of Taiwanese Origin. Same like if you want to understand YC Ma instructions/ Comments on Asian Bowling Tour, it will be good if you know Taiwanese bowling terms like Bei Wa Wa (double wood), wave the ball good bye (fling the ball) etc.
YC Ma's book contains a lot of colour pictures to illustrate the path of spinner ball, how to make the ball back up or hook, how to adjust when ball dun strike based on the pins standing.
The other book called the secret manual of Bowling is humorously written calling spinner style the monster from Taiwan. In my opinion is explaining the spinner style from another perspective. It even contain a section on how Taiwanese Bowling Conmen cheat when bettling with their victims, eg. put heavy metal in their ball to increase damage done to pin stack.
All in all, I trusted that the two books have help me to come closer to exploring a spinner style that suit my body type. There is no such thing as "correct" Taipei spinner style, but developing a correct Taipei spinner style for yourself is indeed a challenging quest in itself!
