Goodie Bag update
Today went to see the sponsor and got the following:
1)20 x seminar bags
2)3 x webcams
3)pens
4)some note pads
As for how the bags shld be distributed, i let prataman have the final say as he is the organise.
I have set aside 2 webcams for david and jordan. Thus there is 1 more webcam left.How shld we give away this 3rd webcan? Perhaps the next person who organise a bowling tourny for this forum gets it? Any suggestions frm the floor? -

Update on goodie bags:
Got the bags liao. They are at Tom's place. Next week, i be going down to the sponsor to get some smaller accessories.
Prataman is arranging in such a way that none of the participants are going back empty handed, but if there is such a situation, my apologies as that is the qty i could get.
For bowlers, pls bring a little less things on that day. I can tell u, the goodie bag's a little big though. Of couse, ppl who drive will not be affected.

i have a stupid suggestion.
Can we arrange with Jackie's Bowl ppl so that their game prize counts? Whoever hits a perfect game wins money and stuff?
although I doubt any1 might be able to hit a perfect game... -
eh, forgot alot about contest eligibility rules and all that, but i tink that STBC is the one that decides which comps to sanction. imagine we org one comp a day. if we are all high av bowlers, the alley is gonna give out balls everyday and perfect games prizes.
so Tom...i guess u dun have to tink of any 30k perfect game prizes. -

Hmm, we should have someone bring digicam, the more the merrier...video some games like Asian Bowling Tour pattern....
then make it into a classic piece with snippets/clips of other players with strikes, celebrations, the little actions like cleaning ball, aiming for shot, blowing into thumb hole.....you know. Make it into a great 2 hr movie clip......divide into 2 parts, upload onto the internet, and let us DOWNLOAD!!!
I'm thinking its quite cool to create a telecast ourselves......but we just lack the ppl to do the dirty work. and the digicams.....

Actually, I can edit/render all your video for you. I can get access to a DVcam as well. But training a camera man is the troublesome part. Especially when he/she must know where and how to get the best angles and shots, like from the front or an elevated angle without getting in the bowlers way. Otherwise, 3 hours of video of such a tourney would be extremely boring if all it shows are footage from the back of the bowlers.

Ok, an update on the numbers then.
With Victor, WX, Tom's friend and Melvin (K Ng's friend), we now have 24 participants. The ceiling is set at 36 at the moment, so please book ur places quickly!

err, regarding the videos....yeah, backview shots are exactly good.....but how to take front view shots? A person standing/squatting at the gutter 2 lanes down will cause distractions....from what i noticed at Jackies Bowl during the TOC, cameramen was at the seats, from the bowling arm side....There, he took the shots. The other way is to get another DGcam, stand where the mechanics often walk there..and zoom in....
those at the centre lanes.....erm....cannot film.
we don't have to film everything....since the starting 6 games are qualifying games, we could film individuals taking shots, don't have to be strikes.....
when it comes to step ladder, have the games at the corner lanes so that u can film the whole thing! -
oopsss, sorry I came in so late. Could I squeeze in too? But but 5 pin handicap so little for poor things like me. All the big men scare me shitless. Apart from Chee, who's a male bowler in female form *admire from far*, a normal 10 pin handicap in events sound reasonable yah?

That's why training a camera man is important. Standing at the walkways along both sides of the alley is the way to do it. But the person must know what to do, how to frame a shot, when to zoom and when not to, et cetera...
For instance, the ABT footage sucks big time compared to the PBA coverage. All the damned ABT cameramen do is show shots from the back. No emotions captured, and the shot is zoomed so much you can't even see the hands and feet at the point of release. What's the point in that? I get so frustrated watching ABT. Amatuer camerawork...
Plus everytime they replay a shot, they show some goddamned closeup of the pindeck with slow-motion... Who on earth wants to see that?!?
Imagine footage of an entire tourney only showing bowlers from the back. If that's all people wanted to see, the training footage from Thomas's camera (or rear AND profile shots of approaches) is more than enough. -

And yes, although I have not updated the thread on this, we will be using 10 pin handicap per game for the lady bowlers. There are now 3 of you thus far. Regina, Yvonne and yourself.
