However, I would definitely not bet against Spore's bowling. It had clearly produced the results and boost our nation's standing in the international bowling arena(amid some setbacks)

oh i heard sg will be renovating the national stadium to build a nicer one ....if ...i mean if ever..world cup is held in sg.....and since sg target...might be gt 0.00000009% confident...if they rely participate....it will be worst than china....if wc is in sg in 2010...haiz...like the esplanade...i tink sg is wasting money

I think just put incentive(like coins in the circle) for the kids and they'll practise all day/night(install spotlights) long... to get monies for their sweet tooth & snacks!
That will be much lower in cost than funding S'pore soccer. Soccer's position as a core sport is in serious contention now...
I expect various other head of sports association(NSAs) to have a go now... -

Normally lunch around 12pm... today not much appetite(maybe due to last night's shameful thrashing ) but I felt better now after postings on the forum

The team is more suited to play Pussy Cup. There's no desire to win... no commitment towards one another... no accountability... simply said... no pride.

Give them a break. Do you really think they want to lose? Do you really think it meant nothing to our boys?
I'm sure they wanted to play well for the fans, for the whole of Singapore. But in the heat of the moment, caught in the euphoria of the whole event, they simply collapsed mentally.
Who are we to say that we can play better than them, or we can show better heart?? We aren't in their shoes, we aren't the focus of a nation, how are we to know how they are feeling?
However bad we feel about the whole thing, first of all, we have to give Malaysia credit for playing well, for taking it to us on our own fabled Kallang ground. And it will be our boys that feel worst about the whole thing, disappointed, ashamed. Why pile it on more on them?
They played very badly, yes..... but that's no reason to slam them like this. -

We can forgive but we should never forget this lesson that the Malaysian team had taught us.

Yup, that's last time... Now they earn easily 2.5k... with the good locals getting 4-5k.
That's more than what our bowlers are getting -
Although I'm still a school boy then, I still remember the good old days of M-league & M-cup where the atmosphere in the stadium is terrific on match days. Those are the days where teams are reluctant to visit the stadium for their electrifying away games.
The kallang roar... the kallang waves... lots of fun & shouting "refs kayu" -
