Alright Gladiators!
Buckle up. Let's all get behind the wagon and claw more points for us to take at least 18th spot.
The team has been doing decently of late, and what better way to solidify our bid for a late charge, than to play the league's cellar dwellers next week?
Did a bit of recce we did. Their top bowler's average is a little over 165, and a couple linger below 160, the others much lesser than that. Nothing less than at least 8 points will suffice next week.
What's up with Yvonne? Haven't seen or heard her playing for a pretty long while? Is she alright? We need her back in the fray. Playing a league with ... lemme see, Jae, Weixiang, Ding, Chuanish, Ian, myself, Brendan, Federick.. 8 guys (did I leave anyone out?) is really not enough.
p/s: Freemun, hope ye got it all figured out, boss. Yesterday was... aahhh... not so pretty, I guess.. to put it mildly. Ding told me he never saw you play like that before.

Got a couple of updates from my friends who went to the Chevrons that said the system there was very buggy. Lanes wise, they mentioned it's something like Cineleisure standard. Not sure what that means, cause I haven't bowled there before.
The systems were brought over from Lot 1, and they aren't new. Lanes wise, reports has it that the approaches are slicker than a block of ice. Well, that was the impression I got anyway.
Would love to go, but I am kinda like on the other end of the island.
Out of topic, I do have a 15 lb super power and flame reactive to let go if anyone is interested. Prettier parties get a heavier discount, just that people who use 15 lbs don't really tend to be little petite pretty people. -

The schedule for next week would be one that is a 'all or nothing at all' kind of thing. We would have to really secure all the ten points.
Prataboy..would want you to be in action again and also Big bird seems very interested to get back into the lanes again and do some damage to the pins.

Hihi, I just returned from a session on the abovementioned Chevrons alley. A couple of points:
1) The parking there is the same system as Tanah Merah - cannot get 'subsidies' with SAFRA card. When i got there today, it was POURING. Cats and dogs. So i follow the sign to the carpark... it was... open-air.. ...
Basically, by the time i got to the safety of the building (running with ball, bags, etcetera... under a brolly), i was approximately 3 pounds heavier - all in fluids. 
2) The lanes are from Lot 1, this is a concurrance. And they stink! I'm not sure how hard the blokes there have been working, but it's sure taking them a long time to get the ball returns and scoring machines to actually work. More often than not, throw a ball and the lane shuts down.
Really a test of 'character'. haha
3) For tonight, at least, the lanes were laid out with a reverse block with, get this - a 60 feet pattern. Not kidding here. They were still sanctioning the lanes (a process of determining the levelness of the lane surface; requires the use of lane conditioner all the way to the pindeck). Therefore, there was no backend. Zip. Zilch. Negative. Here's a reference - for those of you who know my style - i managed to play from 22nd board thru the 2nd arrow and managed to get a turn to the pocket. But there was no 'bite'. So the ball turned, but didn't grip. Hit was sill solid, but only on very high pockets. Unlike the usual, when the ball speeds up after the break and zooms into the pocket. I had to put so much roll on the ball to get it to turn, it rolled-out a couple of times.
4) The approach was, IMO, slick. I use Dexter SST5s, and was stuck using the number 2 sole with the number 2 heel, i think. Not too clear on the numbers. But they are both the least slide in their categories. I don't have the red colour sole, but i thought that would have worked better. Oh well. It's slick. And
p-a-t-c-h-y. But it's not that way for everyone. Yvonne actually complained that there WASN'T enough slide. She used maximum slide on her Linds eXXXtra - still wasn't enough. Go figure.

hey prataman,
i'm still alive and bowling...=) though not bowling in the league so far...coz these days i've gotta spend time trying to churn out a thesis for sch...so can only bowl like once or at most twice a week N most of the time, i bowl with the sch...yup...tat's why been MIA from league...oh and another impt reason is that i dun bowl well at safra tampines...so i'd rather not pull the team down...from what i hear, u guys r bowling well..so that's good news!!! =)

Nice to hear from you... see that you're very busy! Well, if you're free, do come down for a round at Tampines on league day.
Don't worry, most of us don't seem to play our best at Tampines, and we're 20th out of 22nd as of this moment, I don't see how we need any help "pulling us down" much further. I don't see how much further we can drop!

I second prataman all the way. Can someone please help me out here? I've almost been single-handedly trying to persuade her to make appearances (in vain, as you can all witness).

My sincere apologies to everyone, esp to Brendo, and the 2 guys I was supposed to play with tomorrow, Ian and Bigbird.
Due to "unforeseen minor domestic emergencies", I will not be able to join u dudes for the league tomorrow. Sorry for informing you so late, Brendo, hope you can find another to step up.

Alrite Alrite..the karptan speaks forth...bestbest...Now nOw..lets diverged the attention to one more member of ours. Thats Drickyboy..He told me that his classes happens to fall on wed for the rest of the season. That counts him out of the league for good.
This leaves us with not much of a manpower resource to choose from. Yvonne, well I spoke to her and she said something bout churning out that thesis on wed's nite. That too rules her out for the next two or three weeks, depending on how fast she can churn everything out.
What we have on the actual team list is only me. Plataboy. Hamsterzuay. Chuanyboy. WXman.J Jring and finally Big bird himself.
Wxman on the other hand wouldn't be available for the next 2 weeks and if he still can't get his feet to run a bit faster round Maju, we would have to make do without him for at least another 3 weeks or so.
Therefore, we gotta do what sesame street preaches....CO oo Co..oo Co...oo Co...oo peration.thats it.Todays league would be attended by the Freemun himself., big Bird and HAmsterzuay. Next week Chuany and hopefully plataboy would be available to play and I'm sure that his girl would be alrite by then..She have a get well blessing from all of us in the team, cheers bradder...

I'm actually not feeling too 'hot' myself. I have no idea who passed it to me, but i'm running totally sick now. Didn't even sleep a wink last night because swallowing hurts. But i'll turn up, else captain loft will be tearing all his hair out (All his expensive, bleached hair

Remember last week tat we were supposed to be against the weakest team in the league..that is southron or something.well they walk over..That left with the three wankey gladiator versus the ghost of Tampines Safra..surlyone. We took our sweet time and we managed to secure all ten points ..Thumbs up to the players although hamystazuay's ball was neither here nor there.surlyone.heheh but stil he managed to finish off the set with a good well not bad last game..cheers pple and all the best for the NUS classic..
