Greetings,
Just attended the Captain's meeting today at Silverbowl, will furnish you fellas with the details that you will need to know.
Our team has been finalised at 11 members. We have a very good spread of styles amongst our bowlers, I certainly hope we can blend harmoniously with each other on the lanes.
Team members, in no particular order are:
1 ) David Goh - RH Hook
2 ) James Shi - LH Hook
3 ) Ng Ting Hwa - RH Rocket
4 ) Yeo Wee Siong - RH Spin
5 ) Kevin Ng - RH Spin
6 ) Kevin Phua - RH Hook
7 ) Brendan Goh - RH Hook
8 ) Hayden Tan - RH Hook
9 ) Jay Peter Soong - RH Spin
10) Tan Liang Cheng - LH Hook
11) Jae Tay - RH Hook
Dingster, would request that you be Team 2IC, please. In case I am unavailable, I know someone's there to take over matters. Can? -
More details:
Cost per team entry is $300, so each person will have to fork out $27 plus. I will settle the deposit of $120. We have up to week 5 to pay up, so.... I will hound you by then, don't worry.
Each league session will cost each bowler $15, or $60 per team.
The league is made up of 3 rounds of 11 sessions each. So you can tell there are 12 teams taking part.
Interesting to note: Points won/lost are reset back to 0 after the first round. But team total scratch pinfalls, handicaps etc will be carried forward.
League runs on a 20 point system, exactly the same as Classic. The only difference is the score is upgraded to 150 instead of 160 to calculate handicap. Otherwise everything else is similar.
Clothing wise, standard but with 1 difference. Must wear long pants, jeans, etc...(No shorts, bermudas, etc as per normal) but we are allowed to wear round neck shirts/t-shirts. Collars are not necessary. But a minimum of short sleeves! No sleeveless wear, please. (Yes Brendo I'm talking to you)
Prize money is quite attractive, please take this league seriously and give nothing short of your best. Esp spare making.
Overall 1st position to 12th position gets, 2000, 1500, 1000, 700, 600, 500, 400, 300, 200, 150, 100, 100 respectively.
Leaders after Rd 1 get $500, Runner up gets $400.
Leaders after Rd 2 get $300, Runner up gets $200,
Leaders after Rd 3 get $150, Runner up gets $100.
The reason for this prize distribution is that there are no repeat winners. If you won 1st place in Rd 1, you don't get anything even if you win Rd 2 and 3... etc.

Considering that Hayden will be in action Monday, I'll like to go for a lineup comprising of:

2) Kevin Ng
3) Brendan
4) WX
Backup: Jae
You fellas are free to choose your matchup slots. This is deliberate. Spinners thrive on Silverbowl lanes, the middle of the lanes are usually quite oily, and with the many spinners that normally lurk in SIlvebowl, carrydown is experienced as early as late in the first game, in the middle part of the lane, especially. Brendo, good luck to you.
Is everyone fine with the lineup? Please let me know latest by Thursday morning so I can inform Jae if he is needed for action!
For the team's first matchup, I'm sorry to say I cannot be there to get things rolling. Pratagirl will be returning that night from overseas, so me gotta be at the airport, ye know.

You know everyone from our teams from CBC and Classic, and Jay P Soong was the spinner from Jedi Knights in CBC league.
James Shi is the pro shop operator in Silverbowl, so it looks like you DO know everyone, or at least have an inkling of who they are! -

About the dry lanes, I gotta disagree with you. It didn't make a cranker out of me! I still had trouble turning the ball!! Especially on Monday league nights.
Then again, it's probably just me.
