Well, Victor's got a loud bellowing grunt that not many ppl has heard of yet.

1) a great coach
2) more and more bowlers joining in. with some great yr 1 bowlers
3) more of us are training in mental and pressure bowling by joining leagues.
4) we bowl every other day! ( at least some of us)
5) the NUS side isnt that great this yr. with the females on a lvl footing.
6) we have the confidence. remember the NUS Invitational? we came from nowhere to get 3rd. and that time... we were not even at our current standards.
i believe we can do this pple. so lets start getting ready to knock their asses back to the training grounds and get SIM's 1st ever champions overall win!
This would mean that we've gotta play hard & love the game

I was just thinking, if each institution has 10 teams, each team has... say 3 players(trios), then there will be a total of 60 players in 20 lanes????
U will need to book the entire bowling alley for that event~!! -

well... the more lanes the merrier. the more pple we can field too. the only limit now is the number of lanes the alley has.

I just watched Remy Ong bowled at Jackie's Bowl. Not really on his form today, I think his highest out of the 4 games I saw was only 219. Let down by open frames in every game. Managed to get strikes often but most amzingly was his SPARE rates. I saw him get spares in all but one frame out of the 4 games!!!
They are having a trios there, but 3 ppl in 2 lanes though. I think the SIM/NUS should be switched to a trios. 4 bowlers wil be too messy and possibly too long...

First u say he was let down by open frames in every game then say his spare rate is tok kong

wide splits....he got open frames in those.
otherwise, its always the easy 7 or 10 left behind. Those he spared.
The one he missed is this, 3,4,6,7,10..... he got the 3,6,10 and missed the 7,10.
The open frames are wide splits.....

Well, pin 10 to him may seem easy but it really ain't when u are a rh hook(like many in this forum)

Another method for taking out the pin 10, trying it out currently.
You know how we stretch out the index finger to generate more turn? Instead, shift it in, right next to the middle finger.
Result: much straighter shot. In fact, my oil track splits the 3 holes. -

Placing the index finger next to the middle finger reduces the tendency to turn the ball. Thus you stay behind it more.
Another thing to do is to play around with the pinky position. Spreading the pinky (putting it far away from the ring finger) also helps you generate a tendency to stay behind the ball. Trick is to make sure you feel the pinky come through the ball as well as you deliver the ball. This guarantees a much straighter shot. Almost to a backup.
I use that technique for my first ball when the heads and midlane are really dry. -

I'm not that keen on the planning skills of the committee either. I just received an e-mail about the december schedule for the school tourneys (internal-ranking, IVP selection, etc...).
2nd, 4th, 5th and 10th of December. All are next week and all on weekdays. I doubt the committee has to work or even considered much about those who have to or are looking for work.

i tink it will be held on the 11th of jan next year. its a saturday and the format may be changed to trios to facilitate speed.

it clashes wif a certain someone's competition from the NUS side. so they are reluctant to hold it on that date. being obliging as usual we shall hold it prob on 18 if it suits their schedule.
