SIM/NUS tourny

the upcoming SIM/NUS is already being planned. so i suggest the old birds start forming their teams.
format
4 game series (singles)
4 game team (per bowler)
total 8 games to be played in all.
All events seperate sexes.
tentative early january on a saturday for max participation.
it wun come cheap so start saving money to join. ( $30 thereabouts)
can the respective committee members start their jobs? chuan, subsidy and trophy money ok? jae, time to go kai kai for trophies. -

Hey, we have yet to request for subsidies for the SIM Open. We didn't get round to discussing the details last week. -
So each institute how many teams?
I understand the SIM Open something like a trial also for the players in the SIM/NUS tourney?

personally i would as many pple join the tourny as possible.
on one hand, it would give exposure to the newer bowlers and also to gain mental training.
on the other..i would have to limit it prob to 10 teams max if we can field more than that. team formation will start soon. if not next week.i will try to ask Fox to help me in this aspect. i wan to put together the best combo of teams mixing skill and character blends. no point forming teams of pple who hate each other but good in bowling. -
then should i be there to support the forumites (from here) or the NUS ppl leh?...........

its the same as b4..a foursome event. of course...we are empowered to change it to a trios event. ( any opinions? if not we stick to 4.)
the date i really cant confirm wif u kel sorry. its supposed to be either the 1st or 2nd week of jan, on a sat. i will try to confrim things ASAP. -

well, there always has been the NUS alumni team taking part in this tourny, but i shall leave it to the individual schools to decide if they have slots for the alumni. i tink the piority is to the current students but they should be fielding at least 1 alumni team.
SIM of course doesnt have this problem... i would thank the great lord above to have enuff teams to field. -

The NUS dinosuars in the alumni team are awesome. Although to Rando's comment, I doubt NUS have many players to send. 10 teams means about 40 bowlers, yeah? NUS definitely do not have enough. They'll probably have some semi-serious types (house shoe and/or houseball). Oh, and they seriously lack female firepower - so the two schools are pretty even on this one.

i fully intend to win this tourny. 1st yr's lost, 2nd yr i abstained from joining, and now my final yr. gotta get some silverware b4 i grad. or else i gotta come back as alumni to fight. but seriously, this year seems our best ever. reasons?
1) a great coach
2) more and more bowlers joining in. with some great yr 1 bowlers
3) more of us are training in mental and pressure bowling by joining leagues.
4) we bowl every other day! ( at least some of us)
5) the NUS side isnt that great this yr. with the females on a lvl footing.
6) we have the confidence. remember the NUS Invitational? we came from nowhere to get 3rd. and that time... we were not even at our current standards.
i believe we can do this pple. so lets start getting ready to knock their asses back to the training grounds and get SIM's 1st ever champions overall win! -
Now all we need is for Victor to fire everybody up ala Mel Gibson in .
