our personal ball gets chipped off at the bowling alley?
can we ask fer compensation?

not all alleys. check if they put up a disclaimer at their counter.
anyway, just try your luck and tell the counter that your ball is screwed and what are they going to do with it. -
I think that those big bowling cooperations(Cathay Bowl, Superbowl) will compensate(don't expect good value) or at least send your bowl to the pro-shop to be reconditioned.
This is seen as good will. I don't think they would want bowlers to complain to CASE do they

they do half year ago, until they hang up a sign to shun this obligation.

Anyway, if I am in the shoe of a disappointed customer(bowlers are customers of alleys right ), I'll go and explore my options.

I think most alleys will not take responsibilty. Probably partly because they can't prove nor disprove that you got the damage there. Like Ding has said, if they do then it certainly is through goodwill because they are not obligated to do so.
On that note, I guess it would help very much if the people at the alley know you from frequent visits. Customer loyalty is very important to them and they would more readily provide token compensation for a regular than to someone who was unlucky enough to get that happen to them on the first few visits. -

Some of the guys in this forum are having their training at Star Bowl(former Kim Seng Bowl) opp Great World City usually every Thurs afternoon
They do frequent East Side Bowl in their free time too. A few joined the league there too
Others currently join leagues at Classics Bowl(Jalan Sultan) on Monday and hopefully the tuesday league at Changi Beach Club(at Changi, whereelse ).
For me, I bowl where it's low rates cheapo siaz... -

i asked the counter. he blur blur wan.. wah liew...
den the other watcher says was the pins fault.. was thinking since the pins belong to the club.. they shd compensate right?

U can try calling up the alley again. Pls ask to speak to the manager(or somebody that can make decision).
Let us know the out come If unfavourable to customer, then we boycott(BAN!! 
) this alley in future

well, if u are a memeber of the country club, u stand a pretty good chance of compensation. however if u are not...
also, most alleys dun compensate though. its like the warnings in carparks the one that says some gibberish about parking at ur own risk.

ohh, I'm a bit late, but.....had a friend who got his new columbia 300 reaction ricochet ball scratch at a centre after like half a game. It was one deep cut, that go round almost half the ball. Got a new one from the management. Guess it's a case by case basis.
