i find SIM boring. It's not a campus per se, more like a place to get a degree and then disappear. Going for class is like going to work in the office, zero cosy factor.

Speaking from my own experience, I feel that you will play an important part in determining how your uni life will be.
Life in SIM will be what you want it to be.
I had a very enjoyable 3 years in SIM. Lots of fun and tons of experience that I have with, that will be mine forever
The friends I meet, the bowling kakis I have gained... won't forget.
Hope you will find an environment to grow with/ a place n club to belong to. So get up now and don't wait for things to happen. Do it!!!

arips, i don't exactly know how the RMIT curriculum works, but for UOL, it's 100% based on finals. I think RMIT takes into account project work into your year-end grade?
Personally, i would prefer RMIT's style of grading. To wage everything on finals is like, make or break man. Putting all your eggs into one basket. AT least with some project work or CA scores, students are allowed some saving grace of sorts.
The UOL way is simply not forgiving towards students who engage in last minute exam prep... like me (regrettably)

heh heh. I'm sticking my nose where it doesn't belong here, but i very much favour the abovementioned "make or break" method of grading. I feel that CAs and projects are a waste of time and resources tha tcan be used for the pursuit of non-acedemic activities (if you know what i mean)
. Having a 100% paper allows me to just "do it once, do it good".

Hi,I'm currently an undergraduate student of SIM-RMIT BBACC. I can say this course is worth the money that you invest, provided you study for the exam. I like the modular subjects as they are very useful in working life.
The experience I have is there's hardwork since you have to do a lot of assignments and then a month break for exam preparations.
The advice that every lecturer give in class is "Study now, not on the month break". This is quite true, no laughing matter
For new students, make more friends as every semester, there's a group assignment.
By the way, this is the only SIM forum that I can find. If anyone know of another SIM forum, please inform. Thanks! -
A costly reminder, don't buy textbooks until the respective lecturer says that it is required.
It's alright for me if you don't listen as you pay heavily for it. I meant your money in your wallet. kekeke.........
Don't bring all the lecture notes to class, just bring the notes for the day (usually a topic per week or day). Some may laugh at his/her silliness to lug the heavy file. -
I share the same sentiments as Ding. Life in SIM/UOL is interesting and full of zest Exam 100% based is not bad after all as we have whole year to enjoy and only slog for at most two months :p

Hi arips! You'll have to buy textbooks only at local lecturers' advise (not oversea lecturers' advise) and assess yourself whether you need the textbook.
Usually, most of the notes that you've collected from the program officer do not amount to all the lecturers' notes you will have. You will collect the rest of the notes when you attend the class on that first day or week.

i think the problem is BBACC the seniors never help organise leh.. the orientation.. they too busy piahing huh? haha!~ -
I have news that the July intake, Semester 3 class has more than 90 students. Hence, be early to get a seat with better view of the white board.
