Internet Explorer REAL PROBLEM

  There's sth wrong with my Internet Explorer.
  Whenever i try to connect to a site rather than 'www.singnet.com.sg', the progress indicator will drag slowly, then the page lads into a 'unable to load this page' screen. I can only browse FTP sites, nothing else. How to fix this?

  Can you elaborate this problem? Saw ur same problem with netscape 6. Give details on what did you do pior to this problem? Like if got software installation, change hardware, blah, blah...
  
  Also method in connecting to the internet, Dial-up, ADSL, Cable,etc,etc
  
  Based on your post, all I can suggest is, check on your proxy settings for IE got to Control Panel-> Internet Options, click on <Connections> Tab. Depending on your type of internet connection make sure that your proxy is correct. For netscape, Start Browser go to menu bar <Edit>-> <preference> click on <advanced> tree drop down click on Proxies

  Sorry, did not finish post, check on your proxy if they are there, you should see something like:-
  HTTP : proxy.singnet.com.sg Port : 8080
  ...
  
  If not check your ISP manuals, got information on this. Usually, the CD can help you reload the original settings. If you desperate, you can try to reinstall your browser using the CD your ISP provide.

  no, i use a dialup, but the browser my isp
  provides is not IE 5.5/6 which i have been using all this while.
  how do i correct this problem since my ISP does not provide the browser configuration i'm using?

  The problem should be with your proxy settings. What ISP are you using to access the Internet?

  Can you try loading say
  www.nus.edu.sg ?

  Right click your IE icon --> go to Connections tab --> highlight on the name of the dialer you are using then click on Settings --> under the heading 'Proxy server' --> put a tick on 'Use a proxy server for this connection' then enter your ISP proxy address & port no.
  
  If you are a Singnet dialup subscriber, your proxy address is: proxy.singnet.com.sg & Port: 8080
