How far do you ppl will go from your base to pick up your first advance job?

Frankly speaking...
During my 9 years of cab driving.... I am not a Advance job bidder.....
unless, it happens to be a Midnight surcharge job(s).
.If your finger pressed carelessly.... even how far, you still have to proceed... as the rules are getting tougher and stricter, any cancellation will not be encouraged..
But do you think it is a waste of time ? Just for that additional of $8 (advance job booking) to the meter ?
30mins before you advance job, you are advised not to take passengers from the street unless they are heading the same direction.... (but provided that there isn't unforeseen traffic congestions).

Have to wait until 9plus before the "professional" guys (OWT & WRT) back from their shifts to give you some decent replies...
As I am a non-TD now, I care less about single trip jobs (unless it is my own regulars.. then bo pien.. die die also have to do)...

My first advance job must be start of first trip of my shift between 7am to 830am. It must be either G-Dep or Advance booking to airport. Distance from my base to pick-up point is between 5mins to 10 mins max. Job must be G-Dep 39pts or Adv Bk'g + meter not less than 35pts.
I would say that practically there's either G-Dep or Adv Bk'g every morning frm Mon to Fri ard my base. Right now I've allready secured morning G-Dep 39pts for Tomorrow (Wed) and Thurs.
Other than the above I would rather continue my
..unless I hv booking jobs frm my regulars.

My first trip must always be advance booking, regardless of time.
Whether is 8, 18 or G-job. Without the first job of my day, I feel lousy compare to the normalsine.
How far I will travel? one thing I learn in limousine, diesel cannot save one, even from West empty to East, I will still go for it.
That's why "First come, first serve". But priority in such: G-job first, than 18, than 8(really bo pian type).
So every morning, sure I will empty to pick up location, unless I happen to bid the job near my neighborhood, especially now getting more and more, thanks to ANZ and HSBC.

Envy WRT 39pts from base.As I stay in north east most I can get is 31pts Somemore not much from my area. Driving white coming to one month still trying hard to find a way to suit myself. Seem like quite difficult to hit 120-130 from 6am-10am if only do G.job or AJ.

My area Bt Batok is surrounded by condos, semi d's, terrace hses... frm Hillview to Toh Tuck to Jln Jurong Kechil to Faber Dr... @39pts..
Hindede Walk abt 7 mins frm my base.. G-Dep @31pts is a definite NO for me..unless its Saturday or Sunday/PH morning..

Easy lah. I told him already must sweep a bit and take some current call during morning peak. But he atas limo driver tell me meter dun have $1X.XX he dun start meter leh. $130 easy lah. This morning 5 jobs settle.
2 advance booking 6am from John Road to AP, 7am from Greenleaf View to AP. Then straight from AP whack empty to Punggol take current call to Woodlands, then from Woods take current call to Marine Parade, Then another current call from Ocean Park to ORQ. Total 5 trips completed @ 9:20am rental 13Xpts in pocket liao.

Arrived at pax location, 0440am, still got time for a puff. Notice the house was dark, light was off.
As usual, press call out...than Comfort call, 'Mr xxx, the pax had left with another cab cause she mislook the departure timing, please on/off your meter and make a move.'
Haha, that's the advantage of guarantee departure, no show, money still take.

Fix rate, flat fee G-Dep or Arrival make a lot of different in our daily schedule, but look like you are giving up OMO life.
Driving white cannot set target within certain time frame, it will add to our agony.
Any guarantee jobs already add-on to our earning, whereas sweeping floor still had to depend on luck and good trips.
Don't feel frustrated on lost time, plan all jobs accordingly to your timing, and with group jobs also increase your chances of achieving daily targets.

I stay Tanjong Pagar Constituency.
I have a 6am departure at admiralty drive. I quote the normal plus midnight surcharge. Pax agree with price.
But I lazy to wake up at 0445am, go out by 515am to reach pick u point at least 10mins earlier.
So I see open open, pass the job to a colleauge who stay near there, easy for him.
I also have some Colleauges who stay extreme east, their departure in the morning at town, they pass to me.
Quite ok right??
