I can sensed that, there is a new badge of Maxicabs on the road pretty soon. These upgrading to the newer vehicles will have to return their older ones. Hence, the TDs on waiting lists will get the older vehicles after sending for maintanenace and servicing.

I believe Comfort at this moment still feel uncertainties for new mercedes and new maxi, looking at how things was done, mainly is on trial basis, who knows, one day they might do away the whole Premier Departmant.
It won't happened. CumF*ck is the market leader in the taxi industry. The only mishap is they acted very very late. They have an option to purchase 1.5 yrs ago, when COE is still at a reasonable level. With COE at sky high premium, they are now caught with their pants down.

Talking about COE, during many coffee talk, we were discussing, what is the COE got to do with us? We pay daily rental, everything should have factor in. So when Comfort determine the rental for new vehicles, should not keep on stressing on COE. Really nothing to do with us.
Yes, COE premiums got nothing to do with drivers....
BUT...
If they (comfort) failed to secure the COE for their taxis, then, even you are willing to pay $200 daily rental also no use. correct ?
so, it is still the chicken and the egg problem.
Let's create a scenerio. Previously, a e220 cdi may cost $125k + COE ($25k) = $150,000. @ current, a e200 or 250 cdi may cost $150k + COE ($52k) = $202,000. which meant the breakeven point for the company may take longer or increase the rental accordingly.
If the COE surged further to $70k, which means the rental will have to be adjusted again.
The company's concern is that, at a higher rental, can the drivers managed to survive or returned back the vehicles to the company after a few months ? It is not a few hundred dollars deal.... It could be a few millions of dollars investment.
Got my point ? The market leader is alway kia si.
At what daily rental then the limousine drivers are willingly to rent the vehicle ?
When the new Maxi Cabs (Viano) came onto the road in June 2011, the daily rental is $155 (almost the same with the Chryslers)... should be able to survive... but why there are still TDs returning the vehicle ?
Hence, the daily rental must be priced reasonably, affordable for TDs to make a living after deducting the daily operational cost (which is the rental + diesel + cash wash).
If a TD can't survive, he will surely return the business vehicle asap. If the TD failed to pay daily rental promptly, then the company need to look around for another TD to take he's place. At the end of the day, if company is a listed company like CDG, they will need to answer to their shareholders the decision invest so much in these vehicles and they are not wholly rented out, right ?

We understand the basis of COE. But didn't the rental inclusive of many factors and not just COE alone. Diesel, road tax, insurance, maintainence..etc. Comfort using existing scrap vehicle's COE to replace a new vehicle. So definitely they have the sufficient COE to replace old vehicles, simple logic, one to one exchange only. Is just too bad that this period the COE price escalate too much, so to factor this different to current pricing, is really not fair. For Prime is different, they waiting for LTA allocation of COE to bring out the new taxi, so they are at LTA mercy hand. Maybe we will see another round of $50 COE, remember? FYI, that months, Comfort came out the first 100 big/small Headlamp mercedes
COE for taxis are for 7 years + 1 year optional.
Once the lifespan of the taxi had finished.... the COE certificate go together with the taxi. (COE for category A is non transferable).
A new COE need to be obtained again thru the bidding system operated by LTA.
1 to 1 exchange ? You think LTA stupid ?

Oh, so we at the wrong basis. But if LTA had to re-allocate COE once taxi hit 8 years. It will be a big mess for companies right?
Yes...
That's why the last few rounds of bidding, Premier cab aka Silvercab went in bids higher than COE (category A) average prices, bringing the premiums higher.... (reported in the papers)...
Some of the smaller car user are so upset about having taxis COE under Category A.
You can read more on the LTA website link.... (below) cheers.

sufficient planning is very important in this matter.
If they failed on this issue, it may restrict the vehicle fleet's growth in appropriate ratio to the vehicles taken off the road.
If everyone is waiting for the COE premiums to drop.... which is very much dependent on market forces, then some of these taxi companies may just jump in and grab their market share.

Will try to enlighten them again, but surfing net is very individual things, maybe one of the user might be my friend, who knows.
Haha...
As you can see, I used to be a regular visitor in that forum as mentioned. Due to some unforeseen event, this forum was set up on 20th of February 2012 by Sam. He needs a seasoned forumer. I need a forum owner... .
We (Sam & me) have been talking about it for awhile even before the Airshow event, but there isn't a need then because we are still comfortable over there.
As long as this forum is supported by regulars forumers, it should be self efficient. Internet users whom are seeking for some forum discussions will come in gradually.

Well, even normal driving TDs can join in to this forum if they wanted. As most of us are exposed to driving normal cabs, we can be guiding the newbie TDs (in the right direction) with our OTR experiences. Eventually, they may be limousine drivers too.
As I did mentioned before, it is very difficult to segregate drivers in the common industry, but our fellow subforum owner was too happy with my presence in his playground.

In the other forum, they can discuss anything from Pretty lady spotted driving what cab's plate to horny passengers...
Sometimes, it is a place to laugh out loud (becos) we won't want to make a mockery out of ourselves.
Hopefully we can create some awareness to other internet users that there are definitely some quality topic discussions rather than
