i had lost this sum of money through gambling. previously owed my parents about 10k and under pressured to repay the debts so i gave a try again. the "want to kill back" attitude has gotten me into deep trouble. and i would not want to strain the relationship with them even further. i required a loan to be paid over 3 years. any kind soul with help or advice/counseling would be appreciated.
Finding a loan shark or going to pawn shop would be good...doubt anyone got extra 5k to lend u over here.....u are better off selling ur backside at geylang la....
1 rule in life is never ever lend $$$ to a gambler.
can lend $$ to mum that wan to feed babies, can lend $$$ to poor old man.
but never ever lend $$$ to gambler.
that is a code of life.

tell your parents about it and go seek medical help.
or there'll be no end to your misery.
Swindler alert
I believe in TS, because my bro also like that, but I can't loan him any money because I know a habit dies hard.
My advice is quite simple... You need to stop gambling, paste posters or writings on your wall everyday to remind you to stop gambling!
You will need someone to remind you everyday because based on your willpower, it seems not strong enough.
Secondly back to the issue of the debts, any way you can repay slowly? $5k is not a big amount if you work earning $2k per month you can pay back within 6 months? If you tell me you're owning loanshark money, then good news, don't pay even a single cent. Call the police if they haress you. DO NOT PAY THEM, that's the advice from police.
I can't give you money but I can offer you a job. You can pm me if u want part time job.
thank you DailyFreeGames.com i had already drop u a mail.
I just find the people out there are being realistic but i dont blame. i hope the people do give us gamblers the chance. dont outcast us from the society. people calling me swindler or dont put trust into me. but why would i do that. if i would i say that i need the sum of money for emergency. but i admited that i gamble because i want to get out of the cycle - because of debts and under pressure to try again, hopefully to win back. i started this since world cup and everyday i do not have proper sleep and live in stress. i am very tired i want to live normally. i used to be a passive gambler only gamble when chinese new year or ocassionally buy $1B$1S 4d and manage to win starter and i can just stop just like that. i live my life simple i dont ask for good food, branded stuffs and things like that. but because i started it and debts incurred so i keep trying and trying. I hope this lesson can be shared among the community. dont even gamble at all.
What legal recourse do strangers like us have if you run away with the money never to be seen again?
We can't go to the police because we would get charged with illegal loan sharking activites.
from your reply i can see you are a very typical person.
I can provide my details like IC, utilities bill, etc. But still mutual trust is important. I am just hoping for miracle as i know the chances are very slim. but my point is not just about loan. i am oso asking for encouragement, advice, etc from the people here

It's not typical, anybody with average intelligence would know the consequence of giving you the loan.
What good is mutual trust if you can't get back your money?
It's better if you can offer things of value as collateral.
The more valuable your item compared to your loan value, the more likely someone is willing to give you the loan.
Provided that you pay them a small fee for it too.

probably anything that is worth something is in the pawnshops.
I don't see why anybody has to take the risk of giving you a $5k loan.
try www.ah-long-finance.com.sg

Unless interest is very very high.
In which case, the police will treat you as a loan shark if caught.

Ask Michelle Chia
Nah. You write the interest into the loan amount.
i am only 22 and have yet to even complete ns. but signing on in the uniform grp section. thats why i have nothing valuable. since i enlisting soon and jobs offered are student job and very under paid. thus, i required 5k over 3 years because i do not want to fail to deliver my promises.

haiz... you should not gamble... there a long long way and you take short cut.
Then again, a lot of people in sgforums have sad stories.
And have to work 3 jobs just to survive.
Have to buy milk powder for their babies.
Is there a rehabilitation centre for gambling addicts in Singapore?
