Nuclear bombing. Run? NO!

  Scientist have found out that in the case of a nuclear bombing, one should seek shelter immediately instead of fleeing. Even hiding in the car could increase one's survival rate of more than 50%. It is important to seek shelter and prevent oneself from being exposed to leathal radiation. Stay in the shelter until officials deem the environment as safe. Even if one stays in the shelter for several hours, the rate of surviving the nuclear bomb will increase greatly. Definitely, hiding in the basement would be the best.

   u shut yourself tight in the car and  the heat from initial blast can kill you already before the raditation come.

  lol. keng kia, they don't mean when you are directly exposed. they mean a few kilometers away from the blast site. even if you are in the bomb shelter just 1km away from the blast site, you are a piece of roasted meat. there is a kill radius where by it is 100% death.

  I thought most hdb flats have a storeroom that doubles as a shelter? Anyway this thread is very informative.

  eh, i guess he mean the bomb shelter? bomb shelter is also called as store room in new houses . new houses don't have real store rooms, they have bomb shelters (e.g. punggol houses have bomb shelters). older version of houses have store rooms but no bomb shelters. so people use the bomb shelter as a store room.

  yes agree. the heat and blast is enought o kill u. and i guess the heat is enough to melt the car

  I believe the bomb shelter is sturdy enough to sustain a certain amount of impact, otherwise they wouldn't waste money on building it... obviously if you're talking about a direct nuclear bomb impact, it's almost impossible to survive even if you're in an actual bomb shelter. The bomb shelter is mainly for people to survive the initial impact and not for prolong survival simply because there's no food/water. but it's built to sustain impact and radioactivity.

  What is the length and width of singapore? Singapore is about 25km running north-south and 48.2km running east-west.(taken from a website)

  and i guess during the war they threw the  fat man and little boy destory the entire 2 city.both city was like a plain field. and they are bigger than singapore somemore

  Singapore have what preparation against such attacks?   If Airforce to shoot down the enemy planes with Nukes on them? But they will still detonate, right? Any precautions ?
