As with the past elections, although opposition said they want to contest all seats, but there will always be walkovers, including this time.
I know, but there's once when all 87 seats had been planned to be contested, but there could be possibility that there may be walkovers.......Hope that my area in Bishan does not return unopposed again and I'm praying really hard, hoping that Mr Chiam may do in for the last time.....And in which areas there would be walkovers??????

Nice one, SDP is taking Bukit Panjang. That is one of the most pro-PAP constituencies. Horribly neglected, but those people don't know sh*t.
They're taking Holland Bukit Timah too, full of pro-PAP rich people. Too bad VB is there, would be nice to see him out.

GE: Opposition parties locked in tussle in at least 8 constituencies
By Imelda Saad | Posted: 13 April 2011 2004 hrs
SINGAPORE : Opposition parties have said that they want to contest all 27 constituencies at the coming polls.
If that happens, it will be the first time all seats in a General Election (GE) are contested since Singapore's Independence.
Singapore
has been divided into 12 Single Member Constituencies (SMCs) and 15
Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs). That makes 27 constituencies
in all.
At this point, three constituencies could see walkovers. They are Ang Mo Kio, Tanjong Pagar and Sembawang.
That leaves 24 constituencies likely to be contested, including all SMCs.
Several three-cornered fights have emerged, despite the opposition saying it wants to avoid such fights.
That's
because that would dilute the opposition's chances of winning against
the ruling People's Action Party (PAP) in those constituencies.
Five SMCs and one GRC are looking to become three-cornered fights.
At Joo Chiat SMC, the Workers' Party (WP) will likely face Independent candidate Andrew Kuan and the PAP's Charles Chong.
The
Workers' Party and Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA) are also both
interested in contesting Punggol East and Sengkang West SMCs.
Both opposition parties claim they have been working in the area over the past five years.
The National Solidarity Party (NSP) is also locked in a tussle with the Workers' Party to contest Moulmein-Kallang GRC.
The ward is formed from parts of the former Jalan Besar GRC which NSP contested in the last two elections in 2006 and 2001.
The
Workers' Party is claiming the area because of its proximity to
Aljunied GRC, where it had a strong showing in 2006, garnering 43.9 per
cent of valid votes.
The other SMCs likely to see three-cornered
fights are Pioneer SMC - with the Reform Party and the NSP gunning for
the ward - as well as Hong Kah North, with both the Reform Party (RP)
and the Singapore People's Party (SPP) wanting to contest there.
Two other SMCs may see four-cornered fights.
The
Singapore Democratic Party (SDP), the Reform Party and the National
Solidarity Party have all expressed interest in Yuhua, while Radin Mas
SMC is likely to see the Reform Party, the SDA and the NSP locked in
battle with the PAP.
Another ward to watch is the Marine Parade
GRC, helmed by Singapore Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. It will likely
see its first contest since 1992, from the NSP.
Veteran
opposition figure Chiam See Tong has left his stronghold of Potong Pasir
to helm the Singapore People's Party team at Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC.
All eyes will also be on Aljunied GRC, where the Workers' Party was the best performing opposition team there in 2006.
To form the government, all the PAP needs is to secure a simple majority.
That's 44 out of the total 87 seats in Parliament.
- CNA
Radin Mas is likely to see a 5 cornered fight.
PAP vs RP, NSP, SDA, Alec Tok formerly from RP may be contesting as an independent.
Those live bukit purmei shiok boh.

GE: NSP drops out of Moulmein-Kallang GRC contest
By Imelda Saad | Posted: 16 April 2011 1347 hrs
INGAPORE: The
National Solidarity Party (NSP) has dropped its plan to contest the new
Moulmein-Kallang GRC in the upcoming General Election, to give way to
the Workers' Party and avoid a three-cornered fight.
The party said this is a "painful decision".
The original team slated for Moulmein-Kallang GRC will move to Chua Chu Kang GRC, led by NSP President Sebastian Teo.
The
party had earlier spelt out its interest in contesting Moulmein-Kallang
GRC, which was carved out from the now-defunct Jalan Besar GRC.
Mr Teo had highlighted the fact that the NSP contested in Jalan Besar for the last two terms.
He
had also said that the NSP had put in a lot of resources and effort in
the constituency and had stepped up its ground activity since 2008 to
prepare for this coming election.
The party has also decided not to contest Yuhua single member constituency.
But it is still interested in fielding a team in Marine Parade GRC and will announce its decision at a later date.

Good move, otherwise CCK GRC will see a walkover. RP has decided not to contest CCK GRC.
GE: SPP to contest Ang Mo Kio GRC
By Hoe Yeen Nie | Posted: 16 April 2011 1524 hrs
SINGAPORE: The
Singapore People's Party is making plans to contest in Ang Mo Kio GRC.
The team is likely to be led by 23-year-old Alex Tan, a financial
advisor.
Mr Tan said he has assembled a team for the six-member constituency, and is putting together its battle plans.
Details of the team will be revealed in due course, and he said the team will comprise new faces and experienced politicians.
Sources said one possible candidate could be Mr Frankie Low, a new SPP member who was formerly from the Workers' Party.
Mr Tan said he has not conducted formal walkabouts at the GRC, which is helmed by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Mr
Tan said he needs time to raise the election deposit - at least
S$81,000, or S$13,500 for each candidate, based on the figure from the
2006 election.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a SPP
walkabout at Bishan-Toa Payoh, Mr Tan concedes his team's chances are
not high, but said his aim is to give Ang Mo Kio residents a chance to
vote.
But he said the party's focus remains on fighting Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC.
In
2006, the Workers' Party fielded a young team in Ang Mo Kio GRC against
the People's Action Party. The team, dubbed the "suicide squad",
garnered 33.87 per cent of votes.

@ Mr K
Looks like you got to Update again :-)
http://www.straitstimes.com/GeneralElection/News/Story/STIStory_657478.html
SPP WILL be contesting Ang Mo Kio GRC
But..Sembawang OR Tanjong Pagar
I guess either
Sembawang WALKOVER
or
Tanjong Pagar WALKOVER
or
BOTH GRC Walkover :-(
Not sure DPP ( Democratic Progressive Party confirm contest or not ! )
Anyway, this year 2011 General Election...There are much Lesser Walkover ! As compare to 2006 :-)
I wish ALL opposition parties Best of Luck :-)
If left Tg Pagar and Sembawang uncontested that will leave only 10 seats uncontested. If Tg Pagar is contested by DPP, then only 5 seats uncontested. Anyway look like this GE will be one hot contest.

There may be possiblity that both will be targetted right by the last minute....Should either WP,SDA,NSP or SDP may be fighting in Sembawang GRC and DPP,SDP or even NSP or possibly Reform to contest Tanjong Pagar,I bet my life that ALL may be contested!!!Imagine that!!!
