NS Ranking for Poly Boys

I heard from some ex-poly students that in the army, we poly boys could only be promoted to Corporal at most. Whereas those JC students who went into NS, after the 3 months physical training, are sent straight to train as officers who will in turn command us. Is this true?? Can any ex-poly students who had completed NS clarify this??

ok ! whether is it JC or Poly batch, both can be a corporal by end of 2 and 1/2 yrs of duty serving the country ! OCS to be officers must see whether are u capable of bringing out the best in leadship, to excel & to overcome during ur BMT SIT TEST.

SIT is situation awareness test... i hope i got that right
basically, that's the chance for u to wayang that u can be an officer...
they put u in a scenario, some smart alek just had to open his mouth, no matter how stupid his instruction / suggestion is... the conducting officer will take note of him...

I myself only knew what they really wanted after I went to my unit
Am i jerk to state that it is wayang exercise when that is exactly what they want from the clueless recruits?
Through the scenarios they are hoping someone would do sumthing, dumb or stupid. As long u take the initiative. That's what they want.
In the end, its still wayang. -

basically if you are in the PTP batch or obese batch, if your physical fitness very good then very high chance can go OCS or SISPEC. but like wat some of the guys here says, if you are JC batch, there would be more chance to go OCS if they POP with the poly batch.
