hey is ngee ann IT coruse popular?

  Is ngee ann IT course popular? need some info cause trying to enter from ITE nitec

  Lol my strongest is IT, and i currently first year student in ITE nitec.
  
  Oh yea their website said they are the first POLY in sg to provide IT course!
  
  cause i going for C++ course in ngee ann poly, and yea its my favourite poly but erm iszit hard to get in the IT course in ngee ann?
  
  cause currently i write programs in C#,vb.net,java,python(still learning)and J#.
  
  i mastered HTML well. troubleshooting pc stuffs kinda ok.
  
  but i just wonder does ngee ann poly look at portfolios such as CCA and competiton and blah blah blah? beside just plain GPA. Thx

  i'm in NP's IT(MBS) course, and it's okok only
  
  not teaching entirely on the programming part leh
  
  but it teaches some stuffs like network and such, wireless technology, hardware, and stuff
  
  if you like programming, you can go for this course, you confirm can excel there 1

  if your GPA okok only, then they will look at your portfolio
  
  otherwise, it's easy admission.

  It seems like RP is a tech school... but seriously, not many would make it to the top as a tech student.
  
  Most of the top students in RP are either in Science or Engineering.
  
  SP school of tech is good... TP is looking good as well, after they released new courses last year.
  
  NYP is still strong in the animation and gaming area.
  
  NP and RP not sure... but for RP... the prospects are not so high because too much time is wasted. And a wrong teaching method especially when it comes to programming.
  
  Feedback obviously have gone through and went to the dustbin... so I won't bother so much.

  i wasn't from np's IT course. but i was in the same dept or school of blah blah (which nowadays its being called).

  fanaticx, why you select IT ? because you good at it ?
  
  Here is the situation, most factories have move to china, a lot of firms are using ready software and people and IT spending have gone down, thus less customizing. - there is less requirement of programmers in the market.
  
  Web - now with tools every tom dick and harry also can do .
  
  Network and security is hot but you need to keep upgrading and certifiying.
  
  What do you see yourself after 20years you still have to go one to get a degree - you think after 15 year there is still a market for programmer or PC guy at that age ? ...
  
  Take up a newsapaper every sat and see the job section on IT - it will tell you how much job is there for IT - frankly very little .... go into something that got more demand. interest do not feed the family.

  lol haha i wana be a teacher or somthing else with IT, not really all on programming. anything to do with IT i try my best to learn i am still a beginner in the IT world but interest is there i prefer gonig for interest. i know theres alot software already done and web script and so on. but i still think its good to join IT for myself. aniway haha i wasn't asking IT debates, its ppl's choices hehe

  Interest may keep you alive, but reality doesn't.
  
  Take heed. You will understand once you get out to the working world or when you start doing a lot of IT-related work.
  
  Upgrading and re-learning isn't scary for the interested, but there are other things which can make you think twice.
