Laptop on first day?

Just wondering.. Do we have to bring laptop on the first day? I didnt went for orientation, therefore i didnt know.. Can anyone help me? thanks

no need la..actually hardly need to use laptop de..for business students..only when u do accounts that require excel spreadsheet or presentations..otherwise no need..

Actually first day u will go for lectures..dun ben ben go tutorials hor..only lectures..but IS yes, must go for first week.
What you need to do is to bring yourself..print out lecture notes from MeL..or buy from VINS Enterprise..as for textbooks..dun ben ben go and buy if not necessary..suay suay might change syllabus next semester and u can't sell away... -
bad news for you. for first years, theres 2 computer modules, but had been scrapped this year.
2nd, if you are taking a course with maths, you will need to use a laptop, but if your teacher use computer lab, then its no use.
conclusion. u actually dont really need a laptop, use also for up to 3 hours of leson weekly, and hours of playing games and wasting time, like me. also, if u bought from the school resellers, they get your business and give u easy to spoil laptops.
impractical. the school encourage laptop so as to that their wireless internet is utilised. -

it depends leh..different school (i mean business, engineering etc) gt different de..
muz see where it's located ba...IS = Interdisciplinary studies..look at ur time table..there's one day for IS modules only..cannot afford to skip leh..especially first week.
VINS enterprise at blk 72..outisde LT73..there's a bulk buying centre or watever behind the library..this is the place where u buy ur IS notes..

It's bad lor!! Not exactly bad, but the frens i knew were from another tutorial grp cuz i sat at the wrong place!!! I sat with another tutorial grp, that's why.. Haha.. I still got alot to ask leh.. hahaha...doesn't matter whether u sit with ur tutorial group ba..first 2 weeks we sit with our frens..then as time goes by..we go everywhere as a class..sit as a class...
the block which sells notes...blk 72..jzu in front of LT73..Aiya if u still dunoe, u know if u take bus and enter by the gate nearest to the overhead bridge...walk in along the shelter..and to ur left is VINS Enterprise (sell notes, photocopy) and to ur right is Co-Op and canteen le..but then are u from Business School? If not, tell u this also no use leh..coz I think other schools got their own place which sells notes..
Where can u buy textbooks? By now you should noe where is Atrium, Students Service Centre ba? In between the 4 Leaves Shop and the Students Service Centre, there's a bookshop lor..that's the one..

its not advisable to buy textbooks which is exoensive and quite impractical. borrow from library is sufficent.
oh, i have to add i condemn the atrium bookshop for its crappy services and policies. can try elsewhere bookshops better -

U mean the blk 5 one near the library?? Up to now still crappy services?? Lan lan lar, only there got sell notes for engineering department.
