Actually, after a while plying as a taxi.........
Everybody will come out your way of driving, way of queuing, way of cruising on the road.........etc.......
Like if you happen to be in Tampines, my style, head straight to Airport, street got pax also won't stop........
Will never queue at any neighbourhood shopping mall, because I hate trolley of plastic bags.......
In CBD, I only pick up from ORQ or Battery Road.........
And many many more patterns created by myself..........
So after a while, kind of pax you are fetching is already more or less fixed........
And what it actually imply?.......meaning chances of getting nasty pax is lower, because you are so use to those places that you had picked up, once pax on board, turn left, turn right, hit which highway, hit which small lane is within your finger tips...........
If pick up place not familiar, like on call, don't take la.........because you will ended up creating a problem for yourself..........

There is no 110% shortest route for new driver. My ass hole is open for LTA anytime. No Choice. I am a New Driver. So far only CDG play.
I always open Golden Mouth. Some pax respond. Some do not. If pax never respond, I continue my route. If they open their golden mouth later, I ask why never open golden mouth at the same time as me? Argument will start.

U go into any shop trying to find something .....
does the shop assistant asked : " Can i help you ?"
If they did not ask , they are not doing their job as a sales assistant , their job is to help customers buy something .
I do appreciate they do that .... it's their job to ask .
Their bosses demand them to ask "Can i help you ?"
"Can i help you" is a very general term .
Throw your ego aside ..... being new can never be an excuse , new bird must kena like that to learn .

An example today ....12mn
At Fullerton Hotel area , pick a pax to Braddell Road , PUB recreation centre .
He said go by Nicholl Highway , full stop .
So i assume it's Nicholl Highway > KPE tunnel > PIE > CTE .... i asked ! He said yes .
But problem was .... KPE tunnel closed for maintenance !
I said tunnel close , then said go by PIE !!!
Given to many , blur liao .
I still ask : " Hmm , which side of PIE ? Upper Serangoon ? or Sims Way ? "
I can only think of this two routes , he think think and say go straight after Nicholl Highway . He not even sure , but we must be sure !!!
U ask , u get answers ..... then u confirm again , oh Lor 3 that side , near Geylang ?
He said Yes yes yes ......
See ..... one must be familiar with routes which experience can help .
And with correct way of asking ..... u will see the end trip a pleasant one .

ask must hav tactic de...
instead of sayiing"which way u want to go by?"
try tis:" which way shall WE go by?"
or better still... give options to pax...
toa payoh to suntec city...
"shall WE go by CTE exit orchard?" or "can WE go by PIE nicoll highway?"
WE is a magic word...
and i find tat most pax will choose the second of your options...
win win situation... u get to travel by the route of you choice... but it seems tat the choice is made by the pax... hee hee,,,

my experience tells me never ask "which way is your preferred way" normally NCNL pax will have a preferred way and they will automatic tell you Normally I will ask "Sir / madm ...could I go via XXXXX " or sometimes I give two choice for example from Toa Payoh Lor 8 to Jurong Point I will ask .." Sir / madm, do you want to go via AYE or PIE" if hungry I will asked instead "Sir / madm, could I go via AYE" once choice given

For newbies, don't give up.........
I know, many new TD once pass TDVL, straight take out vehicle and whack liao, very common la...........
But put in more effort on recognize route, direction, landmarks, neighborhood.........
I'm lucky last time, why?.......when I start as a TD, taxi meter is cheap like hell........so forth, pax are more tolerance, than I also put in effort to learn mah.........
And last time, OMO to do 40 trips is anytime 1.........meter only jump $0.10, everywhere also pax.........so learn faster.......and where got so much Ang Moh last time........lol

True. Most shop assistants will ask "Can I help you?". Very good. But they cannot help you if your question is too difficult. They must call their supervisor or manager. TD call who? CDG CEO ah!

fullerton hotel... battery rd... eu tong seng... turn to clarke quay... u turn back... turn back to hill st... U-turn at bras basah complex... turn to bras brasah rd... nicoll highway... hee hee...
but dun say khoon teach one if kenan complain... tis one confirm kenan left right ceter if local...
but me took tis route before... coz tourist want to see clarke quay... fire station... armenian church otw to tg rhu drop something at friends house before going airport...

Never kenna left right centre B 4. Most of the time Keep the change. I think it's how u phrase it.

Whenever I kana destination I never heard of or dunno how to go, I will straight tell the pax I dunno the way and tell them if they cannot guide, then take the next cab to prevent misunderstandings later. Then suddenly they can guide liao knn. But such cases very rare la cos most places aga aga will know what directions and which vicinity. I rather dun earn than to holland afterwards and have problems. I can always look for next pax or nearest coffeeshop for break lol.
I got GPS in the car but I never use it cos I dun really trust it after using few times. Initially I thought I will depend on it a lot but end up only glance at it sometimes on expressways to see next three exits lol. Best way to learn is still thru remembering landmarks and street names imo.

Gabriel a bright lad ..... just that he quite stress with 4 children , and renting a flat at Bishan .
Sometimes human did made some lousy decision at times .....
Hope he ovecome those crisis due to those wrong decision he made earlier on .

All these routes and paxs at the end of the day, it also need to voice down to ourselves, we at one time or the other, are also pax, look at it from that perspective, and you can better understand the behavorial of pax, and same like many others, we also have good and bad mood, we also have good and bad days.
Taking ourselves as pax, if a TD ask us for any prefer road, naturally, we would help, because at the end of the day, we also want to reach our destination swifty and the cab driver also want a smoother journey. That is a win win situation.
In all mattters, be it personal or working or driving, frist and foremost is to search for a win win situation, not i lose and you win or you lose I win situation, and certainly, not a solution that we all lose.
Yes, at times, I do met up with unreasonable pax, but if you can reason thing out with pax, most of them can get the que of it,
Bowah, Sir, is there any road that you prefer me to go? If no, then may I suggestion we go by xxx...yyy..zzzz
Pax, You TD leh, must know better than me, look like most TD in singapore dunno road one leh, just use the fastest way!
