Singapore is full of opportunities for business people, you can be a billionaires or drive ferrari around, but make sure you do your homework, as a cambridge trained lawyer, he takes it laws by laws.
LKY is very particular about rules and regulation, it takes the courts, the parliament, the govt, the lawyers, the judges, the cost, the peoples to painfully lay out the framework of a set of rules and regulations and also the penalties for not following it for each and every offences, do you think they are going to just let it rot???
Singapore one thing good is that, it is not unlike other countries, especially those 3rd world ones, all countries have set up systems, judiciaries, laws and regulations, but not many can match Singapore in following it.

in Taxi Driving, we had a Price Chart, it is supposely fix price
any amount that goes below it, its under charge
but sadly, there isn't any punishment for under charging
any amont that goes beyong it, its over charge
it is made simple to understand over charge, as long it is beyong the stated price list, it is over charge.
$8 is for 1/2 hr or more advance booking, if it is less then 1/2 hr and you charge $8, it is over charge, even payee agree. that simple.
charge, is an amount the payee are commited to pay, payee should not be made, at any circumstances to commit to any higher amount.
LTA is not gonna listen to any of your stories, what helping people lar, what making people ease of getting cab lar.......etc.
want tell stories, tell the judge, the best is by a good story teller (the lawer).

Many times, I got advance call 30 mins away and each time, followed by call from Control Centre asking me if I can go there earlier and clearly stated that customer willing to pay the $8 advance.
Like this I can go tell LTA stories?

Maybe now must practice like buying HDB flat. COV cannot get loan.
Once pax board, ask if agree on the $XXX, if yes, pay the amount first then start meter.
Reach destination - receipt printed without $XXX.

Last night was a real disappointment.
Thought I cannot under estimated the power of the Straits Time. Last time, put the MDT on BREAK mode, decide to give LV full support. Was expecting nothing less than a chaotic night. Minimum, at least 8 blue notes.
Remember when I was in food business, just a little writeup in the Sunday Times food column, the next day, the queue was dam bloody long. Need to prepare 10 times the usual amount and every bit and pieces was sold out within 3 hours. And that queue lasted for one whole month and since then, there is always queue.
That's what I am expecting last night.
Anyone see any difference? IMHO, not a single bit.
Just like a normal Friday, busy but still manageable. Honestly, the effect of the writeup was ZERO.
Apart from the regulars, maybe one or two new destination, that all.
What u guys think?

CDG, the company and you, the driver, should know the Price Listed
The company can be a fault to offer you an illegal deal, it is up to LTA decision to deal with them or not.
The company can handle the punishment, even given a millon dollars fines, they still around in the business.
What will happen to you, as an Taxi Driver.
How much load (fines), we can handle?

BJ, i think this is like army, oh the general is coming today, all area cleaning and start to look smart, haircut, clean drain, toilet, do parade rehearsal, march from morning till afternoon, then the general arrived, walk pass just like this, smile and wave, and fark off he goes...then we go back to normal, play cards, take MC, sleep, plan for friday nite out and weekend event on where to chiong, budgets, where got bak bak girls... -

Wha lao, now driving casket van, what to show off, waiting for burning, then siew kang liao..got a cheap laptop to post only, last time they call it notebook, knn, people sell only $30, when i use, people also laugh, knn IPad, galaxy tab liao, still use notebook...hahaha..What I am saying is that LTA is putting up a show, some jokers might have complained to them and they hv to release it somewhere, of course there is no lesser demand on it, people just give me $50 ang pow for good come good go, you think I got report LTA or show to other ar??? mai siao lah, knn, but at the moment, since it is on paper, the advice is slow down abit, or be...careful, after awhile, as usual, all start again.

Nothing lah ...... no need them to call us on the same day , just make them know who is lakeview is fine with us .
Long term wise ..... we will benefit from it .
We just need lots of quality calls to come in ....built up the customers base ,to a big pool .
No quality one throw back to CDG

i was told that day on wednesday night , a chap from SPH called us to go Tampines .
Keep on calling , from $3.50 , to $8 advance , And $8 advance plus $2 tips type of bookings .
No taker means no taker .
It's no all about money .
