If our customers willing to pay for a cab ..... we cannot stop them one .
Our customers dun complaint one .
LTA will only take action if pax complaint .
Anyway , LV is a license radio taxi kiosk .
Alongside Taman Jurong Boon Lay and Beach Rd .
We have been there since the 80's .
Some LTA enforcemements not even born .

Cause the movers and shakers read ST. Give wrong but reality based reply to ST mean the spokeman can change job already.

Last night at Under Apple Tree wait for rain stop ......sekali Jenny page "pax offered advance now" from Tanjong Pagar Area ..... to Simei .
That pax very happy to pay ... say it is still cheaper than those troubles to get a cab .
She said only LV can give her a cab just by a call . No other taxi companies can do that .
Most have to hold and returned with " Sorry no taxis available at your area , pls call back again ."
That's what $x plus meter can do .

Why get so work up?
The report already said that this service of matching pax and taxi is NOT illegal.
Most of LV's business is based on current calls and $8 plus meter, ie, same as company's rate. So it's life as normal la!
Those $16+ meters are far and few, only on raining days and super high and desperate demand periods only.
With this write up, the only ones who suffer are those pax who are using it as for now, TD will think twice abt accepting in the case of repercussion.
From personal experience, if I got such calls, even the $8+, I usually make it a point to confirm with pax BEFORE starting the trip. I always remind them that their agreement is recorded as you know la, at that point, everything u want, they also ok but once reached their destination, will start to ask question, grumble it's expensive and ask why should they be paying that and even threatened to complain or asking for recipt.
Remember the Dr Susan Lim vs The Brunei Royal family's case? Patient still alive, everything ok, Patient die - start to ask why so expensive when in the first place, they already agreed. Willing buyer willing seller.
