when i was new , i was told by my mentor the same thing , pax are very nice and will be forgiving to new birds. So every pax also i ask, say i new.
Ask until become a habit , then this aunty board. Sunset way wanna go Holland V , so i stupidly ask go by which way pls?

Actually i knew the way but i bird mouth go and ask her , she really flew into a rage , first time so scared of aunty :D
giving change that time , she still told me off by telling me dunno the way , dun drive taxi!
all these shit for $4.60

For old people is like this one lah, they might had keep all their frustration about family, husband or relatives and than gum gum this taxi driver said something like new and dunno the way to irritate her, so she or he will shoot all the way to unload her frustration on TD, and that is why we are sometime become a scolding bag for them.
Bedok south, One ah pek, buy breakfast, from kopi to bread to you tiao, said going to frankel ave, very near only, I ask him which way, he started to F me, why, you dunno the way, drive for what, go home sleep, or do other job, every cabs I took, they know and you dunno, do yur job, not ask people who paid you to do..then when reach already, I tell him, have you released all your anger on me, he paiseh apologise, saying that he had a bad morning with his family....., knn, just paid and fark off lah

Bro, I am a pax. Just share my thoughts.
If a TD asks me "which way you want to go?". I will think he is unfamiliar with the route.
If he asks " which is your perferred way". I will have no opinion on him.

sometimes when pax say the destination we know,but at that location suddenly we lose our oreintation!then when pax direct us to a more familiar road suddenly we know the way!

correct . now my routes are in built into me 4. i can give pax 2 or even 3 options how he wanna go.
Its like picking dish from menu, take my cab now wont go holland one haha.

me route knowledge very bad but i drove with confidence.. went wrong route also act blur, dan show some frustration, pax see also diam diam.. hee.. -

True. When I pick up pax, If I don't know the route, I will search on GPS. This can take up to 20 seconds. Pax who know the route will automatically tell I direct you. But I still try to key in to play safe. If really cannot find, no choice. Depend on pax directions.
Pax who do not know the route will wait patiently. All these are street pick ups or queues. If I do this with booking, sure kena fark. That is why I never do bookings.

Like to add. Day driving not easy to change lanes if you need to do so suddenly. Everybody in a rush and nobody will give way. New drivers beware.

This takes time. I very happy when I famaliar with the route. I drive with so much confidence until pax want to tip me

Thanks for the advise.
Now if a TD asks which way you want to go, what would you do knowing that he is unfamaliar with the route?
The TD will definetely try to send you to your destination by all means whether by using Street Directory, GPS or calling other TDs'.
But by now you know the TD is not famaliar with the route. You still have the choice of taking another taxi.
So to all fellow TDs' If you do not know the route, don't be shy to say it.

Once at teck whye got current booking.. My knowledge of Bukit panjang really zero.. Pick up this minah ask me go zheng hua pri school pick her fren up then go queen steeet.. She dunno i also dunno... Gps also cannot find.. I talk to her friend over her hp... Say near bukit panjang plaza... Go there also cannot find.. F words all start to come out from her friend over the phone when she call later.. I told the minah to get down no need pay fare.. At least this minah apologise.. Haha..

Ok. Fair enough. You cannot send pax to destination, you don't collet fare. Me also the same. But I will stay away from booking unless I at least know the area the pax is calling from.
