Problems of new Taxi Drivers

ROUTES.
It takes years of driving to be a good driver. Once you are a good driver, yiou are a lousy taxi driver if you do not know the best routes.Worst is if you cannot send passenger to their destination.

routes not a major problem. until now i dont give a fark about knowing the best way. if i know, good. if i dont know, i just 'manage' the passenger until we get there, as long he or she pay up. then next. the most major problem is recognising and handling customers who not only dont give chance, but immediately bite to eat people, especially new drivers, sometimes they even bite old drivers until the drivers fed up then fall into trap. careful

For me simple. I know i take you there. You know you tell me where. Both dunno very rare. Then I use GPS if agree. Dun agree take other taxi.

U'll have less problems if u know those routes inside out .

i try to learn the routes day by day!can't expect to master it in one day!ln the mean tlmejust let them fcuk us!must endure and perseverve

For me routes quite a problem. So far manage by pax directions or GPS. Slowly learning more daily. I also avoid bookings cause I have this feeling bookinx pax not so forgiving as street pax if you not famaliar with route.

Learning of routes is understandably not simple for us, our brain memory is not so good as scholars mah, if our coconut head is good, still driving taxis meh??
But then, as slow learner, we still can learn slowly. Most important are the bigger routes.
Start with Expressways, study each closely, each exit lead to where and how you can use it to your advantage. This is the most critical of it, like barltey east out from KPE, what from south, how you use it, from north, where can it lead you to, spent some time per day to study each, and you shall be able to master it. Beside some changes of roads, roads are dead, you are alive, it up to you to decide turn left or right.
GPS is a good tool, but overly rely on it, get you not far, before long, it become a must for you, without it, you cannot operate and lack confident,
Unless you really at lost, then use your GPS, once you know the route to a particular place, once you got a chance, try to navigate that place again without GPS , in this way, you learn faster and more confident. In another word, GPS is spoonfeeding, once spoon removed, you cannot get feeding, we do not like to see this happen.
Once you know route well, you definitely are more confident and relaxing, instead of tense and more stress, when free at home, try to question yourself, from Bukit Merah hoyfatt road to Raffles hotel, which way, do it in your brain, then from Raffles to CCK, which way, this are call mind routing, you think in silence, just like you are driving in the cab thinking in silence the option of the road, the best is to discuss with pax, he or she may give you the best road

i once tried not using GPS kena pax left to right ear so noisy...i say ok auntie ...wait hor..on gps or best follow yur way ...auntie then say not sure...aiyohhh headache

Since start driving a cab , got money call chicken , no money buy GPS , so until now , still no GPS ......
So LL have to learn by hard ..... no money buy GPS .
But heng heng learnt by hard , got something in return .

Then hor .... heng heng Google developed something called Google Map , and some third party apps ....... so became free .
Free apps ..... can use , buy where got time to press for info ?

some passengers kpkb,but in actual fact they don't know the routes,but they don't want embarass themselves,so they keep scolding taxi driver!

Ask them to get out lah, TD not boxing bag or scolding bear for them to vent all their long day anger on us leh.
U also must understand many paxs all get stress up in their family and work and most important money matter, they when got chance to whack someone like a timid TD, sure pour down on you lor, just like those angry parents who scold their kids, for me, they fark me, I fark back, then later both said sorry to each other, I mean agar agar ok mah, but once you touch my intergrity, I never give chance liao

heng heng google map for what, so many map in the net lah, heng heng must either strike toto or durian drop from tuas to AP, then AP to CCK -
i once kena AP to pioneer north was it?...total fare almost 4x...very naise feeling for a 45min journey after that

The problem is not you don't know the route. The problem is that you don't know you shouldn't pick up aunty. :) Nehmind lah, at least now you've learnt your lesson. -
try to not over rely on GPS...............

Went by wrong route... Kana f from pax... Apologise n gif discount.. After that Go home study the route which suppose to go.. Dun repeat the next time... Thats how i learn by kana f from pax..

I realise driving day more stress driving at night! Peak hrs and the traffic jam.. Pax rushing.. Erp cannot siam!

Drivers with better route knowledge ..... normally they will drive with confidence .
Paxes love drivers who drive with confidence .

Drive with confidence .... pax won't fuck you up one .
They will respect you even more .
