I live at tanah merah, I book in everyday at Bedok camp. From camp to my doorstep is less than $4. I only take cab home sometimes cause I damn lazy walk 20 minutes. If you knew would you take me? Just wondering cause I'm quite curious to know if TD prefer long or short trips.

But if I have to queue at a taxi stand for some time, I wont be too pleased though I also have to take.
Each TD has to make some money per hour to break even, so time is money to them and they will eventually become more aggressive in order to bring food to the table.

In the first place, how would I know if you are going to bedok camp or pasir laba camp, so for that matter, we will still take you, beside at your place there, got many calls, so if on call, too bad.

How about make a current booking for taxi to make it $7 plus?

Usually peoples with short trip will first tell me that they are going just around the corner or just abit further down the road, and most paid me more for shorter trip, like $4.50, they round it up to $5 and most will said thank you uncle.
So if TS can give more tips, you can be very well know in Bedok

Many many many years back when meter start $2.40 i took a cab from somewhere along JE st21 to IMM, no bus service there, late for work. Take cab, reach destination no small change. Driver said $2, can lah.. Only time in my life take cab pay lower then meter start price...

If happens that you are at eunos and want to go to still rd. Make sure you don't tell the TD, " uncle baru(only) still rd, paiseh " wait the uncle hear wrong bring you go Balestier Road.

Sorry to hijack ur thread TS. Just wanna share this incident. My friend was queuing at mandai zoo. He was the 5th taxi. 1st n 2nd in the queue is Chrysler and 3rd n 4th is Syangyong. So there came an indian family who went to the 1st taxi, was rejected n till it reached my friend the 5th taxi. My friend asked why they dun take u? 1st taxi, "I'm on call". 2nd taxi, "i dun go there, go behind take the blue one". 3rd taxi "Busy". 4th taxi was busy on the phone so indian nvr ask. So my friend take him and when CCK. I told him to confront them but he scared kena marked bythem.
So guys, if u r my friend, what will u do?

I think, firstly, you hv to understand that TD are also businessman, shrew and cunning to the very best, they also hv to make the best of their time and effort so as to gain more on the road. Therefore, am I right to said, as a chicken rice seller, sorry, no more chicken tigh, please go to the next stall.
Then, as businessmen, we respect each other, we are afterall, competitors sharing the same cakes, and in respecting, each one has his or her own way of earning a living within the boundary rule of their trade. The rules said in the Q, you must take the customer, Q what, Q1 or Q2 or Q10?
If you fren go confront the first few infront, you should know what will be the reply, "So, why? what is your problem, if you do not want take him, tell him take the next cab lah, nothing to do with me, I am waiting for my family"

If i in town take one to tenah merah , if these pax waiting just infront , just take lor ...
But i will NOT go round and round at Bedok/Tenah Merah trying to find $4 pax .
Dun waste my time .
Next will be ECP down to where got $3 CBD surcharge .
Or AP maybe , $3 Ap surcharge pick n go cases .
Or Singapore Expo for the $2 surcharge if there are events held there .
I go where the carrot is .....
I drive a cab , not doing charity .

If Tenah Merah on the way to ECP highway ...auntie carrying NTUC Fairprice plastic bags wave for me ....
Sorry auntie wait for taxis behind .
Wasting my time to pick for $4 .
By the time i alight this auntie , collect $4 .
I maybe already reached town awaiting for my $3.30 + CBD $3 paxes .

A few plastic bags can lah. As long as no open boot can liao. If trolley then F off lah....Actually PP taxi stand ok leh. Evening peak can take. Mostly send to Meyer or Tanjong Rhu area. When reaching press STC wait for MDT ping. If no ping then chiong down ECP to town loh....
