First 9 Months as OMO TD.

I have been silently following this forum for the last 9 months. It is really nice to see fellow TDs sharing their experience with newbies. I became a TD in Nov 2011. I have this to share with fellow TDs here. Why i became a TD i think it's easy to guess. I am 47 liao. I started as a relief for 1 month to see if I am suited to be a TD and also to ease the burden of having to bear full rental as a newbie.. Thereafter, i became OMO. Initially, i had to drive 14 to 15 hrs to earn what i needed to earn. I used to get frustrated when cannot get pax. Today after 9 months, i drive about 12 to 13 hrs and earn the same amount as when i first started. I no longer get frustrated as eventually i will find pax. Whether street PNG or Taxi Stand. I start at 7am and home by 8:30 to 9pm every nite except Fri. Fri I drive longer (usually up to 12:30am to take at least 1 midnite trip) to cover for Sat rental so I can stay home Sat. Sat nite, i drive abt 4 hrs to cover for Sun rental. Sun itself i also drive few hours (usually 4 hrs) in the evening to earn a bit. Basically, Sat n Sun i stand-down. Personally, i see this slightly shorter driving hrs for same $$ as an improvement. Plus I dun need to sacrifice family time. I am well aware of the pitfalls of OMOing. However, I think I am managing it quite well at the moment. Whether I can last, nobody knows. Live each day as it comes. At least now when i sleep, i dun have to worry abt project deadlines, powerpoint slides, statistics and all that corporate shit. Not only TDs suffer from health problems. Where I worked, I have heard of 2 deaths of colleagues who collapse at their workstation without regaining consciousness. My boss was hospitalized twice due to heart attack. Thats all. Thanks for reading. I was wondering, if i should join LV?? Any opinions?

If you're a CDG OMO, I would say it is unneccessary to join LV.
Unless you are willing to add at least $80/mth to your overhead just to get a few more calls per day.
Btw, I'm a ex-LV member.
Recently I've met many LV members and was very surprised that they have left.
Don't asked me why they quit because I can only tell you that I tia kong only
And I don't like to post what I tia kong.

I also have the wild thoughts of being OMO on and off, but I think I need to build up your kind of stamina in driving before I do so.

If i do decide things ....... i will recommend no for Centuri on LV . Everything are put on hold for the time being .

When have bills to pay and mouths to feed, no power also must go. But now, no more 14-15 hrs. 13 hrs max, keep. Actually, if dun count break time, only drive 12 hrs. -

Well .... there is opportunities for u at LV .
I only scared u do not like those ready jobs given to you .
Mind you , many $8 plus advance booking , for some funny reason , LV members dun like to take .

Basically Grid bill for the month can be done in a matter of weeks .

If u attached to Elmo , and learnt nothing , i will be deeply disappointed . I will also be very disappointed if Elmo do not guide u in . But i have faith in Elmo . First i need to understand how u work before i can brief you on how the things work .
