Yep, I agree with you.
My relief drives 5 days a week(mon to fri) and will pay half rental if unable to drive for these days only.
For weekends, whenever he request to drive I just take half rental. I believe in being flexible, a little extra $ instead of baking my taxi under the hot S'pore sun and I need to sleep anyway

One thing if relief can suka suka take "leave" ( pay $25) .... relief must tahan Hirer to take leave also ....
Like " Yo relief , tmr u driving whole day , i pay u $25 " .
Give and take lah brothers .....
A good partnership must give and take .
Cannot say relief always MIA and hirer cannot one .

A good partnership needs time to nurture, one can be good friend, but when come to work together, can turn up to be enemy.
Most of us do relief for cabbies near our places, same goes to hirers, they also prefer taking relief near their place. Even when you part with each other, at least try to leave some gentlemenship within, so that when you meet up on the street or anywhere near your place, still can talk and greet each other as buddy.
The rule of engagement for partnership is as said before, start with a friendly mood, then the problem come in, then the stormy mood from both side, and once the storm is over, the rainbow arrive, and thing may get better to betteress.
But usually at the mid of the storm, the relationship tends to cease, because of different interest. In getting partnership, alway go for a win win situation, and to do that, both need to find a common interest and work on it, and as for Taxi driving, one common interest is to make money for both so as to give our family or ourselves a better tomorrow.

Eveybody is sure to have their own self interest, that is understandable, you got own agenda, I got my own, then we come to the table and shown hands, I got diamond ace pair, queen and king, you got orh nine, black king and ang tiong...pairs
Then let see how we can match it up to get common interest to work on it, if you take 2 circles and overlap them one over the other, you find the centre overlapping part is the common interest that both should work on.
However having said that, it is not easy, because human are funny creature, they like to outwit the others with mind game, end up relief throw key, hirer no more relief, who loose? All loose

Like this you sabo us, no wonder my hirer said why other put dettol, clean nice nice, you never clean and put dettol,
You see, people like to compare, hirers sit around, comparing each other relief, and relief sit around comparing each other hirer, so you do good to your hirer, some hirer get to know and become not happy with his own relief. All this make the world go round and round.
There is a term call Expectation of norm. When you engage to be a relief for a hirer, knows your stand, do not promise heaven or hell, make it simple, because once you start doing better for him, he takes it as the norm, but once this norm start to change, he takes it as rebellious. Just like one day, for example, you forget to dettol for him, he start to put it in his mind and suspect your sincerity.
Like if I first wash at kiosk for my hirer, then one day, I washed myself, and hirer start to wonder why I never go kiosk and wash, no so clean, and cheating will come into his mind. Therefore, repetitive good can sometime taken as norm. And as norm, it must be done.

Bowah, I totally agreed. Once do abit more, it become an expectation if next time no do......

I told my hirer pls dun put any fragrance in the cab ,, i cannot tahan . Now less fragrance liao ,
Putting dettol is for my own good as well .

I once told my hirer if dettol not strong enough , dare dare use .... Giant selling the house brand dettol big bottle $4 nia cheap cheap . My house got 2 bottle , for washing toilet .
Not enuf i bring ... dare dare use .

Chief, It'll be nice if my relief can come out with the extra $25 on my off days just like I collect only half rent from him on his day offs...but I think its highly unrealistic to ask a relief to come out with the extra $25(not impossible though).
Thing is, relief pays the hirer and hirer pays the Taxi company.
Working days - pay $50, Off days - pay $25, Hirer Off days - pay $75.
Unless he ownself willing and suggested to also fork out half rent on my off days, its difficult for me to ask, paiseh to ask, to be precise.
