Market Practice for Part-Time - 1 Day Week

Hi all, just want to know what is the market practice for drive once a week.
I currently drive once a week either on Saturday or Sunday as I have a current full time job.
In driving CDG and pay $52 to the hirer when I drive from 7am to 6pm.
Is this the market rate?
As per verbal agreement with the hirer, I need not pay if I do not drive.
As I sometimes need to do OT at my workplace, I have a few occasions, I did not drive on either weekends.
As I feel Paiseh, I on my own pay some top up like $15 or $20 when I do not drive even though the initial agreement was I need not pay when I do not drive.
I have a feeling that the hirer is not happy as sometimes he take the next day to reply to me through sms if I cannot drive the following week.
But whenever I do a transfer of $52 for the weekend driving and do not mention that I cannnot drive the next week, he will immediate reply to my sms.
Should I pay when I dun drive? Is $52 a reasonable amount for 7am to 6pm for either saturday or sunday?
This kind of timing, I only earn around $70 to $100 for weekend. Normal bo?
I am around 40 plus of age.

To drive once a week don't really serve any purposes.....
For pocket money?
Pardon me for being so direct....Sat or Sun, driving at 7am-6pm, the WORST time....si mi surcharge also bo, if I'm you, rather spent the quality time with family....

to be honest .... 52 bucks from 7pm to 6pm alright liao , nice hirer liao .
if u felt guilty or piesay , do discuss with him what is his required time to let him know in advance that u not going to drive ?
and any hirers also will not be happy if last min inform them .
given to me , i also buay song .
but i do open up for more discussion to those issues .
small problem lah .
normally all hirers alright one , unless relief damn attitude , then they will buay song .
if not should be okay one .

after reading your posts , should i say u are a bit of sensitive .
do communicate more with your hirer , like drink kopi with them , dun just make money .
Do wait for him for coffee when he takeover .... talk a bit inside carpark also good , at least got bit of talkings .
i mean do ask him politely or in some friendlier ways on how was the arrangement ? Is he okay with it ?
Dun hide your feelings , no harm to be frank sometimes.
but when communicate , be friendly ..... should be okay one no worries .

$52 (full half rent plus less 1 hour) for a Sunday morning? You sure you're saying ok to this?
Would you do it at this rate? The fact the hirer charge this can tell whther he ok or not.
For TS, throw la. Sunday or even saturday, CDG got plenty hirers trying to find relief. Of course, the thing as Poolman says about last min, that one a bit fucked up. So this thing must clear before agreement, or renegogiate. Worse case tell the hirer, if he finds your schedule too difficult, he can look for another who can confirm.
You have a large choice of hirers, choose the one that suits you best.
Then again as someone said, if you're gonna drive Sunday mornings only of all days, maybe it's better not to drive and rest, unless you really need the income.

TS driving weekend day? Fuck up timing. Sun still ok pick N go everywhere. Ya if can relax on weekends. Unless really got nothing to do then ok lah. If not those weekend cheapo 1 less taxi to service them...lol

My hirer charge $50 and i drive his taxi every alternate sat night 7pm-7am as im holding a full time job. Sometime weekday i off just sms him wherther can drive 7am to 7pm he Always reply ok!
Btw im a newbie juz got my tvdl in april now with cdg
Lucky to find this hirer somemore stay same blk with me... Not v fussy...

My thoughts on this as a CDG hirer....
If you need to earn part time income, why fret over maybe a few dollars rental. For eg, extra $5 x 4 days a month is $20 only. It is not as though $5 x 30 days a month = $150 for full time TDs.
If want discount on rental then must commit every weekend and pay half rental if cannot drive.
It is a matter of who needs it more. The relief for income or the hirer for rest!
Main thing is to find the cab that is the most convenient and serves your purpose most. Rental should be secondary I feel.

Jr , it's a luxury to handover at 6pm lo ..... some hirer driving night need it at 5pm .
Tat's why i said it's good lo to be able to handover at 6pm , hirer alright liao lo .
If he charge TS $52 from 7am to 5pm , then i said bad lah .....
But 7-6pm , fine with me .
Of course it's 6am to 6pm even better , but TS can start at 6am or not ?

If TS do not like 7-6am arrangement , can always ask hirer : " Bro , can handover at 6am bo ?"
Discussions must take place lor ... No discussions , hirer dun know one .

or if TS can wake up on time , he can always ask for 5am to 5am .....
And i am so sure , for one day one week , hirer can go back by 5am one .
TS can wake up at 4am to work bo ?

I am responsible enough to always give my hirer at least one week in advance notice if cannot make it for next week.
If last minute like on Friday, I cannot drive on saturday ot sunday. I auto mode will pay $26 to hirer.
My expenses are high like all of you guys, so that why come out to learn and earn a bit though $70 to $100 is not much but better than nothing except got to see people's face when you not sure of the route but generally all are quite ok.
After drive, than go eat and shop with family. Next day work regular job at 7am.
Try to balance everything.
I am sensitive cos hirer when pay him , sure reply. But mention cannot drive next week and not top up. He take longer or like yesterday till today no reply even though top him up $20.
That why than come here to ask the seniors here on the practice.
Today my full time taxi fren ask me to top him up $20 if do not drive.

I think 52 is fair. It's high to us for sunday morning, but it TS tutorial fee. Sunday easy to pick, good practice for route and anger management. Once a week only. He won't be doing it long if TS is serious anyway. So under such circumstance I think it's very fair.

wahhh 52 good already liao...i pay 95bucks from 11pm sat till sunday watever timings i like...
Maybe after master all roads with GPS then get a new TC such as CDC..

Ya Sun plenty full of pax. Also can learn interview skills. Take call skills. Choose type of pax skills. Very good lessons.....Lol

Each different day has got different type and kind of paxes .
So i would say Sunday those paxes are quite "unique" .....
Other days another kind of "unique" .
Need different skills to adopt such "unique" patterns .

So far if TS inform hirer one wekk in advance , and pay $26 if last min , this hirer has got nothing to complaint .
I felt communications must be there .

Fark lah, in the market of hirer and relief, there is no standards and regulations, some get $48, some $50 and so on, some need to wash, some need to help to paid parking, SMLJ also have. It is a free hirers and reliefs market out there, got one hirer ask for relief, I called him, what is he driving, he said "I drive Toyota Sonata", kenna like this also have, too long with toyota crown liao.
Therefore it is up to individual to decided for themselves, as someone said, rental give and take $2 to $3 is ok, more important is the location, timming and the relationship, if gum and happy, take it.
