So just pass my TDVL on 22nd June 2012. Last Fri 6th July go Sin Ming collect TDVL at 230pm, take bus go Defu go sign for Wish 1.8, take cab after everything around 630pm.
Very blur don't know how to operate meter and MDT. Just know login and BUSY sign, Toh say everything inside the file... Go pump petrol at Yio Chu Kang Esso, buy parking coupon go home, reach 7pm+
Open file find how to use meter and MDT, wah more confused!!
Near my house saw one Comfort driver having smoke break, ask him how to use meter. Then understand bit more liao.
Drive my cab around 11pm+, first day no rental so i thought drive drive a bit. Go Jurong Point see see crowd, havent reach Taxi stand one guy pop out of bush stop my Taxi, drunk indian guy, then suddenly one more friend come in taxi, say go Kian Teck, lucky i know the place, nearby so ok lah .
Half way driving then think wah jia lat what if kena rob at Kian Teck there. Reach there lucky nothing happen they pay and go.
Dunno where to go next so just drive Yew Tee, pinoy couple stop me ask go AMK ave 5, lucky know.
Total $30+, go home liao cos need to wake up early go buy season parking.
Saturday start drive 9pm. Go Toh Tuck get CNG card and pump gas.
Lucky got one guy there also just start 3days, ask him how to use CNG card and ask him more about meter and MDT function. Then go IMM four time, send all nearby, warm up...
Then try go town, slowly drive from Boon Lay Way minor road all the way, missed 2 passenger cos cannot see! Then realise i never wear my contact lens! At night a bit blur!!!!
Ok nvm drive slowly, must remember buy contact lens next day. After mifdnight, Bay View Hotel pick up couple go Sembawang. Then drive slowly down Upp Thomson Road go back town, Thomson Rd pick up one go Bukit Batok. Drive back town check out where all cabby go queue. Near Somerset pick up couple go Bukit Batok then Pioneer Mall. Then go home, think better get contact lens then drive next day.
Sunday contact lens wear liao, but start 930pm. Thought go Tuas just drive only cos never go there many years liao. Near Tuas West Road, one guy stop me all sweaty! China Man don't know english so much. He say Tampines. I say, WHAT?? he say, Tampines St 41, scared wrong info, i on my phone GPS show him the road name. He confirm.
He say very hard to get Taxi, i say Tuas u must call, then he say no money.. I say, Then no money how to pay me later!! Then he say no money call cab... Ohhh.. Ok lor Tuas to Tampines, i drive he sleep. Reach, $35+ he pay me all $5 and $2, good i got small change liao.
Drop him pick up one go Hougang, then i go Pasir Ris, pick up couple go Tampines. Then want go Shell Upp Changi to pee but close down liao! U turn pick up two indian guy go Chai Chee and Ubi.
Then go around town, wah Sunday night very quite, try go East Coast Park pick up Indian Couple go Lorong Lew Lian, forgot where it is. Ask them, they say go straight reach liao. I know go straight reach Fort Road.. LoL just drive lor, then they sleep. Damnit! Ok traffic light i on my phone GPS find, then remember its Serangoon Central there.
Go Harbor Front, very quite thought call it a night, near Alexandra pick up 2 Myanmmar guy go Kian Teck, just nice after that can go home. Drop them, end up pick up 2 gerls one go Bangkit then the other go Woodlands CheckPoint, stay johor. First time go checkpoint, taxi stand got many queue up also ah!
Decide must go liao, put busy go Toh Tuck pump gas wash car, go back..
OMO not easy to earn for newbie, must be discipline and start early. I bit busy in day doing other business, so 9pm-4am only enough cover rental and fuel, wash and maybe $20-30 profit

TS is saying he is a hirer, correct?
TS is also an OMO hirer, right?
TS hirer, OMO, start only at night, and start only from 9pm onwards until maybe morning 3-4, correct?
So if this is correct that means TS is only driving to cover rent and use vehicle as tpt for self?
Of course there's nothing wrong, but I do find it strange to do it this way. Why sacrifise so much of sleeping time to do this, plus when you gotta work in the morning?
Is is good for health? Either way if seeking for profit, starting at 9pm for night relief is already very touch and go, usually very difficult to cari makan, to start at 9 for OMO, that's really stretching it very far.

Day work means day work , OMO si mi OMO Wish ? I cannot understand .
If i boss one day , i make sure the people i employ dun OMO a taxi .
Cos they will never commit fully in their normal jobs .
And they will not have energy to do it .
One day lah .....

This is one side effects LTA found out due to the COE hike .
That's why few mths back LTA said they will want a taxi to be driven by 2 drivers .

I have a friend ....
His former hirer ... A CDG Merc hirer .
He actually hired a Merc , and working as chauffeur during the day .
So what he did in the morning , he drove his son to school , his wife to work in the morning , mother sent to dunno who's house , then he proceed to drive his Merc to another relief place , and his relief drive him to work .
At night he takeover from 8pm and drive rental til 12mn , go home sleep .
All because Merc rental $123 , diesel cheap .
Taxi morning hard to get , expensive .
CEO expensive to buy a car .
All in all , he lost $40 everyday , but considering morning sent so many people , worth it .
This is Singapore COE system , the side effects of CEO .

LTA and their bright ideas again. Sounds very nice on paper, but is it workable in reality and for a majority of TDs?
If must have 2, who is gonna take responsibility as the hirer? Who to sent the car for service, repairs, etc? Who is gonna be in charge of paying rental?
Who gonna cover rent when 1 party is sick, on holiday, etc? Why should the burden fall on the other driver for the 1st driver problem?
How to set the timing? How to find partner that is likeable and able to work together? Is LTA fonna force hirer to take reliefs that cannot gum or vice versa? Or what if still cannot find, some stay ulu place, not many drivers available. Like that how?
Where to keep and send the vehicle? Why should 1 driver have near at home, and the other must travel if both party have equal rights as joint hirer?
What if really cannot, will taxi company be happy to collect only 1/2 rental from 1 driver? Of course not.
I dunno, got so many things to draft and plan, I think is just a another fanciful plan the LTA staff think of to please their bosses and the Minister, so it looks beautiful on paper. They get a promotion for this, the shit is forced on us and later the whole thing is scrapped after a few months or dies a natural without further mention.

tell u what , i know a bit , cos i was once a Wish 2.0 hirer .
Let's say Wish 2.0 , ok ?
Daily rental $98.98 .
benefit $665 .
So average rental u take $98.98 x 31 days = $3068.38
U take $3068.38 - $665 = $2403.38
Last 2403.38 divide by 31 days .
Answer : $77.52 a day rental .

Like between $72-$76 .
Cos their rental down $2 every year , dunno now still valid .

CNG roughly 300km , u need to pay something like $34-$38 , a few dollars higher than diesel .
Now diesel if 300km , most paid about $33 - $35

CNG for 1.8 , mileage can get 180-240km , depends on traffic jam or not .
If say like all trip like from NTU to Tampines , Tampines to Woodlands , Woodlands to Simei , all expressway no jam , one might even get as far as 260km .
Overhauled engine for Wish is even better mileage .
CNG for 2.0 , my record full tank 309km .
Averagely 280km .

Day time not full time 8-5 job, i got my own business, day time also work anytime start, can also push my day time "job" to night and drive cab day... but i have always been night type of person, last time my previous full time job also start 10am sometimes 12pm go office, then 2-3pm go home liao
I test night time drive cab, cos daytime still not familiar with CBD taxi stand..
Yes, Pool i read the MDT and Taxi meter in this forum on Sunday, so roughly understand, only stilll got hard time remember what time to charge what.
My Wish 1.8 $94.16 rental, benefit as pool stated $665 p/mth

CNG should be fine for me, beacuase I hardly hit 300km daily, except weekends close or slightly exceed, and the few dollars differences between CNG and diesel can buy the conveniency of owning the car fully really interest me, but I have to find a discount card for the petrol. I'm really tempted to take up the 2.0 Wish, but the way Transcab handle things really hold me back from making the commitment. Really a tough decision to make.
Just another stupid question: How would you compare the car performance between 2.0 Wish to Sonata?
