I believe there are still a lot of buggers who like to put the wet floor mats on top of the engine after car wash. Like during crown days.
Water and soap residue can drip onto electronics components and accumulate then cause an electrical fire!
Guess old habits die hard...

with recent many sonata driver i know who complain about their engine and the kind of action the mechanic does, soon more and more sonata will up the lorry liao.
their mechanic now full of rubbish answer on the problem, the calling of hyundai experts is full of bull shit, just to show public a good side of themselve only, no different from other td coy

I think the hyundai investigators wasting their time only lah.
Engine all burnt up, somemore all covered with foam extinguishant, how to establish causes?
Guess after this round, CDG will need to let public know of the previous investigation results and come out some measures to calm nerves, else we all later eat grass liao...

No wonder they aborted their first intention to set rental to $120 . $120 to rent a taxi so easy to catch fire ? Then they say better not , remain at $104 , if on fire , no complaints . $104 still complaint what ? Nothing to complaint liao lo .

another possible cause...many still like to put wet cloth behind steering wheel even though the komoco engineer (during collection of new taxi) had warned of possible problems.
i can understand the wet cloth is necessary to wipe away dust which are very visible during crown days.
but i think with sonata no need lah, the aircon air filter damn solid. i dun see much dust.

Well, I believe it is the fuse box that burnt and spread the fire, the surge of current out of a sudden could had burnt the fuse, too late for it to cut off, just like a high surge of current into a bulb, it blown off before even the tungsten broke.
If your vehicle had a sudden bright front lights, then dim now, then suddenly bright again, such inconsistency happen in korea make car, cos their circuit and board technology in auto industrial is still no as good as the Jap and German.
On the other hand, due to fuse keep blowing up out of inconsistency of current surge, those farking mechanic may put an above the safety Ampere fuse to stop the blowing up, this heat up the fuse till red hot and burnt.

few year ago, when coe 10k+, the rental is $104,
now coe 50k+, the rental still $104, why ar?
