Almost $95 tip
Got a booking from a 20+yo lady.Safely sent her to her destination.Final fare was $15.30.She gave me 2 notes and 30cents.As its quite dark, I didn't see properly but I know was 2 red notes.I returned her $5.She alighted.As I was about to keep the money, I realised that 1 of the note is bigger.As I take a closer look, I realised that the bigger note was $100.I quickly chase after the lady.Luckily, she she hasn't gone far.And she passed me the right note.PS:So will you keep it or return?Why I returned it?Cos its not my money.No point keeping it.It may be gone in a bad way. -

If its yours, it will be yours.
If not, it will be gone in some ways.
Some ways may not be your liking like accident.

You know when I resume taxi driving after a long absence, I sometimes also used to charge city surcharge at say Arab St.
Then 1 day I re-consider and said that's not right. So from then on I never overcharge my pax, and return whatever in excess. Got a few times, pax give me $50 plus ten, thinking it's 2 ten, But I return.
I found wallets and hps also, but also return. And without charge even, if offered I turn down. Only if insist, then I take or unless they need their hp back straightaway, then I will vharge. If they can wait a few hours, then no charge.
I also don't handover to the counter, where maybe get some letter of thanks or whatever rubbish.
My philosophy is that I don't need to be rewarded for doing the right thing. The right thing must be automatic and sincere.

Well I don't believe in Kharma. But neither do I believe in ill- gotten wealth. $100 in exchange for a life time memory of taking it is not worth. A bag of gold now..... I'm not sure about that.

I think all these are very individual cause, and then, sometime, cabby changed wrongly to pax, pax also keep quiet and quickly walk away, like pax give me $100 for a 20 trip, my $10 grasp together, got 2 of them, then give him $80, but actually $100 because forget to rub the notes, he counted and walk off quickly, later than realize, alamak, short of $20, like this how

Perhaps it's true what you say, but I also believe that 2 wrongs cannot be a right.

Therefore, we are at time short changed, I use to put whatever money pax give me into a box, then use another box to give out the change, later after shift or break, then I count and re arrange the money in the fare box, so if for TS case, I would had counted and taken the $100 unknowningly, especially during a connection, one up, one down, one up, one down, the changing took place very fast, like if $17.60, my hand already got $2.40 stand by, if pax paid exact, ok for me, but most will give 20

Overall speaking is that it is good to be honest and give back whatever that does not belong to us, but on the other hand, there are also good pax who knowningly that we had given more to them, and return back to us, but some never do it and take it as a gain, free ride, end up a equal sum
