i only go for limo PnG............ where got time to Q??

, what to do, I cheapo TD only ferry cheapo pax
That explain why I never encounter hijacker before, because they just want to follow me behind...

Like that day, in the RWS, after queuing a while, I'm finally the third in the queue and in front me is blue and the 1st one is silver. 2 pax come and the cheapo well dressed lady pax (first pax) immediately skip the first one and hop onto the blue. The next pax puzzled and just hop on the silver. Imagine is just in the mid Sat morning that pax also choose taxi.
But anyway does idling will cost more diesel? I put to neutral will waiting and I though is ok? Not sure can someone enlight?
If can, put to parking, when in neutral, the engine is still running with slight combustion with spark plug still firing, a lost of fuel, only the gear is disengaged, ny putting into parking position, the engine completely come into a stopping position, lesser fuel injection and the spark plug stopped operation.
But because putting into parking hv to go all way up pass reverse, most like to put to neutral which is fuel consuming.
Depend on the Q, if it is moving, then neutral is ok, if not, then parking, if kenna stuck somewhere and have to wait for a long one, off the engine lah

eh cant be lar bro parking should hav spark operation mah if not
how the combustion is going to work?? eh diesel should be compression
ignition rite n not spark ignition correct??

Thanx Mr bowah, now I understand the difference of "P" and "N" logic. One qn will be u still need to pull handbrake if u @ "P" or "N". Any fuel consumption if handbrake is pulled? Sry I still newbie...

Let see how our Mr bowah reply ur qns? Me also interested to know.
I really dont understand....why so calculative until like that?? Even every mili litre of fuel also want to count ah??

OH yeah, forgotton, thot of my private car, hehehe
But it best that you try to go into neutral, even at traffic light, it best to press the brake at D position. At AP Q, best is P for long Q, and D with brake for P n g. Neutral is more for towing, wheel alignment and balancing.

Handbrake is just for uphill and also a safety feature for P. Once u pull the handbrake, nothing move, in emergency, you pull the hand brake also, but at Q, just put P is ok, unless a uphill Q, the problem with handbrake is that many fail to release it and move on, this may lead to more fuel taken and brake damage. Of course when you park, you pull the handbrake to secure it
Fuel comsumption is the least when you are cruising, because the momentum of the crankshaft is moving continously, fuel consumption take the most is the starting, the moving off time, so in a Q, you keep stopping and moving, that take up the fuel more than a stationary engine on cab.
The initial move off need more power to get it to move, like when we start running, we need lots of energy and power to get ourselve to move, once momentum set in, you feel more comfortable.
Diesel engines use compression to ignite fuel, thus no spark plugs required. In petrol engines, spark plugs will be in used during idling as sparking is required to ignite fuel.
In neutral or at park gear there's negligible difference in fuel consumption, when in drive gear it'll consume more during waiting. Disengaging from drive gear to neutral during waiting will improve in overall fuel consumption but will lead to more wear n tear to gearbox especially when one engage to park gear. Some European cars will automatically disengage gear to neutral to idle during waiting time at traffic lights to be more fuel efficient but will not engage park.
Depending on driver's concern... Whether to save fuel or save on maintenance. Hope this clears up our newbie's question :)
wah alot of engineers here hor....... all mechanic trainned 1..............
for merc we hav tis SBC function when in D mode at traffic light u
step the brake twice it will hold the car in D mode no need go into Neutral
then when green light juz step accelerator can go off liao
remember some td at ap Q do what, they just off their engine and push the taxi forward( flat road), so want to save, this is the best way lar

Not many Mercedes drivers know about this feature, some even driving for many years liao..
That day this lau jiao complaining traffic jam leg very cramp, told him got this function, he say Comfort where got so good give us this feature...no choice, bring him along with his Mercedes and show him.
Than he kpkb...wasting his 10 years of leg strength...
