Hi brothers,
My friend travelled oversea regularly and wants me to fetch him to the airport, but he need a recipt to claim from his company.
1. How do I charge him $8.00 advance booking fee + metered fare?
2. Upon returning from oversea, how do I fetch him from the airport?
1. What Color. Blue or Yellow - Adv Bk => $8.00 + Airport Charge $3/$5 + Standard Meter Fare.
2. Find out from him, his flight Numer, Check Internet to get the arrvied information, Hold yourself at CBP area, When he arrived call him goto the pick up area, Put your Taxi to BUSY goto Pick area take him and go. ( ONLY when you leave the Airport Terminal area then start your meter.
Huh ? Taximemter can press lah , as "Advance" on meter , just press K2 until u see $8 , then K3 .
MMO is from SMRT , right ?
Same lor meter as TransCab .
Then AP same lor , press K2 until see Changi . K3
Sorry Poolman very fast one , before pax closed door , all surcharge in liao .
Singapore only TransCab advance booking $6.50 .
But still MDT like zzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .
Bro, just for you...so how's driving with your new Chevolet?
Normal taxi picking at AP had to be tactful. CAAS very strict on that. If not careful, summon will fly in and will have hard time appealing.
Anywhere in AP, you are not allowed to pick up pax at Departure Hall, the fine is $200....
T1, no problem...make sure your pax know where's pick up point, beside the big open carpark...Pillar 9 the safest, mata won't disturb you.
Never pick up pax at T2 arrival hall driveway, no matter what unless you are limousine taxi. The CCTV won't give chance, do not risk regardless whoever tell you can. Park at proper carpark and greet your pax at belt is the easiest.
Same go to T3...unless you process the SAT sticker or else don't risk also.
Budget Terminal is small, park at open carpark and greet your pax, should be fine...do not pick up at glass door near arrival hall..easy target for CAAS.
Operating of meter, you have to figure out yourself..$8 plus meter for departure is attractive enough but not for arrival...waiting time from flight landing to picking up will kill off all your time........but if is your good friend, no harm done.
Good luck, just remember, many TD had been issue summon by CAAS, the successful appealing rate is not very high. Do what you deem right.
yah be veri careful alot of eyes st the ap......
All terminal departure all so many of this cameras .
Hello can zoom images one hor .... cabby also can see one hor .
anyway if BUSY and pick up , not likely to have any problems .
If i kena , i'll get my friend to fuck CIAS up !!!!
Passenger fucked them they lan lan one .
Fares is not a problem, since his company pay for it, the problem is picking up at AP, agreed that you have to be careful, once a guy also told me on his return trip to pick him up, he said once see plane confirm landed, go into carpark and wait for me, at the same time, go for your break, once I retrieved my bagages, I will call you. Charge your parking ERP charges into the bills.
I also met some paxs who book me in advance, be it dinner, drinking or AP arrival, we exchange nos, it is not because bowah handsome or driving good, as casket driver, you know lah, like tortoises, but some peoples like a tortoise drive. Now why they booked me is because they said, you know the way back, the original pick up point, their house, so for them, they do not want to keep telling another TD turn left, go straight, turn right and some even cannot remember their own way to their house, Many rich tai tai and old folks also dunno what is all the E's
.
But having said that, not all I agreed, cos sometimes you are somewhere and have to make all your way back, taking booking is a committment, and committment is a stress.
at airport doing private booking can but troublesome. to be safe, you go inform who ever on duty to take note of your taxi number, tell them private booking or picking up friend or relative,
but being new, don't think of all this so call lobang, you are restricting yourself to maximise your intake, only if like 45/50point type you charge is worth it
learn to sweep first and you will realise advance call not so great after all,
a plane arriving e.g 1800 may end up landing close to 1830 during to air traffic ( i work at airport for 7yrs) , your friend clearing the CIQ maybe only be as early as 1900 to as late as 1930 if there is multi flight arriving
so you stop 1730 , rush to airport then only to pick him between 1930-1945 , looking at the time you need to wait, worth it and if you were plying on the road, what is the possible collection?
i remember you did mentioned you got lobang and a lot of friend preparing to book your taxi, let me say this, even my brother call me to pick him, i tell him call the hotline since he can claim,
So coming in to this line, i know you have many dreams and plan but let me tell you, not realistic unless you fully understand what is driving taxi is all about
not to pour cold water on you, just hope you will learn
I think he is learning very hard, from the day he collect vehicle, only post once, which is this one...

agreed with bro angwk7118... bro MMO69 a little idealistic... hope the harsh reality of taxi driving doesn't dampens him...
to quote some TDs:"juz drive lah!"
Thanks guys for sharing.
As per poolman, the advance booking surcharge is there.
I also think it's better not to pickup my friend from the airport. The delay might dampen the day.
OMO is tough. Min hours spend OTR is 12 hours. Can be as long as 16 hours if you are aiming for more.
Very tired and sleepy now.

Relief also need to be OTR for 12 hours including everything.
Breakeven point very important....how to achieve that in double quick time, nobody can help you, got to figure it out yourself, which I told you before...
I can do that in 5 hours (forummers please, not for argument), of course not everyday but 80% of the week is good enough...
Take care...arrival cannot do, throw to me lah.
U can write manual receipt bo ?
Departure $45.
Arrival $55.
