my point of view is not that TD forget to on meter,i myself also sometimes forget!what i mean is there a loophole whereby everytime passenger go short dist. he forget to on meter!then ask passenger to pay any amount!of cos short dist maximum also only $5!

What loophole? What talking you? I ask your lah if the pax guai lan how? Pay the TD $2 how? Will he accept? Lan lan right? He says PAY ANY AMOUNT LEH!!!!

no sensible TD will do tat...coz if meter not on when pax on board... any accident... insurance company will not pay... if the pax is injured or touch wood or-yi-or.. the TD hav to bear full compensation...
as a TD... juz ask yourself... worth it?

TS. Like what others said, very hard for fare to be under $4 if surcharges are added. If he had switched on the meter and added in the additional surcharges, it could have been more than $4.
So care to tell the time this happened? Also tell us what you would do if you were in a similar situation.

if take white start rate is $3.90 liao reach PA frm kallang side if need to uturn frm ica side at syed alwi then kenna red light all the way should be around 6 bucks. the waiting time at tis syed alwi, lavender mrt n geylang lor 1 to turn red is quite long bro

yalor, since brother is also a TD, can also do a one time forget to on meter on a rich pax, then can take back the $2 or more.
