Enquiry about the Toyota Hybrid Prius 2.0
At present all old prius is out and hard to comeby
Only got new.
Waiting period 3mths
Deposit 5k.
Contract 5 years. after 3 years if throw key forfeit 2k
Daily rental:$107 inclusive of GST ( No other additional benefits)
Mileage: 23km per litre of petrol!! ( about 0.075 cent per km!!)
Those who see this thread dont get excited hor... me only interested in the car(My favourite man..) but not the terms and conditions set by Prime.

Must have patience , dun so fast think so much .
U still new .
We shall wait what's next after Chevy Epica .
Now SMRT & TransCab push very hard for their Epica .
Dun think Premier or Smart would ever follow them to use Epica as replacements for their aging fleet .
I still think they are hunting for something interesting .

The way i see it is most taxi coy will not go for hybrid car.Cost of the profit making from diesel and on top of taxi rental. Just like TC. Why they opt for CNG? Cost of double profit from both sides and also the boss vast decades of experience in trading in natural gas...but of cos TC also kenna F in the end for the start up of building the CNG kiosk.
To see a hybrid taxi coming out in other taxi coy other than Prime is almost as close to impossible.
So me can only hope nia..

5 Years is a long period of time.
Personally feel that SIngapore none of the taxi company worth for us to tied down for 5 years.
Eric, you are still young, maybe you will met your catalyst that make a greatest change in your ife.

Yes i do have big dreams of my own making...but most of the time day dreaming la..lolBut frankly i do hope to see it one day....but than there is a saying..

Understanding that everyone of us shall perish, may help you to be more calm and steady in whatever endeavour you seek to achieve. As a TD, simplistic, calm and contention is a must to be a happy driver.

Last year , Comfort put on trial , i think 2 of them on the road , for hybrid .
Then they surrender the idea of hybrid for taxi drivers .
Why ?
Cos of diesel sales .
If all their taxis run on hybrid , how are they going to buy diesel in bulk for their buses ?
And the maintenance is higher , of course .
Overall , hybrid dun benefit them .
They will not do it for the environment or for the cabbies .
Money more important for them .

People cook , they eat .
TransCab won't cook again . . . after their CNG got burnt .

To me , CNG and Hybrid is good .
Still CNG still the best . Cos it doesn't use any petrol or diesel , just gas .
Too bad , the government think otherwise .

Perhap we should look from a macro level perspective with regard to fuel energy in Singapore and the world.
1st Q is to ask yourself, with hybrid and so many solar energy researched, why petrol or diesel is still much in use??
2nd Q, why if hybrid save much fuel, it is still not popular in Singapore and the world??
3rd, why when you talk about green houset, save the world, global warming, and yet peoples in these world are still promoting petrol and diesel grades?
It all because of greed.
Cdg, yes, I saw their hybrid camry on trial at Jurong once. that was about 1 year ago, now why they never use it? 2 camry with perfect blue and taxis top like sonata, very nice to look at..but still cdg drop the idea.
Let take a moment to consider and think it over, if the world car become hybrid or on other energy such as solar or maybe reactor powered, the whole economy will go upside down, USA, british, french and europe will collapse after so much investment and war in controlling the oil production, Singapore bukom, refinery, jurong island will be history, car makers of fuel powered may go into liquidation, an overnite, many rich and powerful will become beggars. Oil tankers will line up the shore of arabs.
If you said driving hybrid, it save the world due to less fuel emission and thus slow the global warming and improve air quality. As hypocrite as those businessmen and govt bodies could be, all TCSS only, the money churning is still OIL. Cdg asked govt to reduce road tax on hybrid to offset their diesel lost sale if they go into hybrid, govt do not agree, because today, be it CNG or hybrid, you still pay the same road tax, so what kind of perk are you giving when you are talking about the green house effect?

v soon they hv to change this policy under pressure from LTA. All taxi have to hv a relief or run certain km a mth. many commuters complain HARD TO GET TAXIX. -
Prime KNN lah. They lease out those car that they cannot sell as taxi so wun loss money mah. KNN even Honda Fit can use as taxi you say leh....Lol

SG need to continue spurning the crude processing. Do you know that out of the total production of petroleum/diesel but just 10% or less is only domestic consumption? The rest export and ship refuel.
Okay - The big boy Co will say WTF that we can't even have 10% or improve percentage domestic sale to sustain local operation.WE NEED MORE domestic consumption.
Don't forget it not just only petroleum but the downstream involves many by-products like kerosene, grease, polymers, polymerize additives and so forth.
Who cares about "Kyoto Protocol" -- Talk only.
Do you know that USA consumes the most PVC by-products?
SG need to keep crude refinery right down to Lycra ( and other) fine downstream products.
Or else close shop and relocate. No corporate tax, no jobs etc.....
CNG ??? still has to rig from underground. Spoil the environment.
Hybrid (with battery) --- Long way to go.

i remember once Philips Singapore wanted to pull out of Singapore .
Goh Chok Tong was the PM , he decided to give Philips the Mega ERP gantry projects , condition was Philips to stay in Singapore .
If Philips pull out of Sg , Singapore no face totally .
Philips did not 100% pulled out of Sg , production manufacture lines out to china , only R&D remains in Sgp . Toa Payoh that one is for R&D only .
So it could be Axxon intend to pull out , and ........ the rest is just history .
