if a local chinese uncle or auntie takes a cab does he speak to you in english? if a malay or indian takes a cab does he speaks to the malay or indian taxi driver in english? surely they use their own language.
its because you have no pride in your own language (i assume you are a chinese. if not i apologize for making this assumption) thats why you are angry.
i dont understand why singaporean chinese are so proud they can speak english when they cant even speak their own language.
To be fair most of us know our landmarks and places in English and not in Mandarin.
Most of us will converse to each other in Mandarin but switch to English for places in Singapore or an address and not continue in Mandarin.
Very simple logic...when I'm in Shanghai, after hop in to the taxi, I won't tell the driver I'm going to Eastern Bright Ball in English...
东方明ç ,right....
Anyway, PRC usually will siam Mercedes cab if possible...because we never give them chance 1...
If the Indian/Malay pax takes a taxi with an Indian/Malay driver and want to go Science park 2, do they say it in Tamil or Malay.
There is no other way. The moment u land at Changi AP and get on Airport Boulevard, all roadsigns are in Engerish. Comprendo??

Every country will have good and bad people lah.
I met bad Singaporeans whom can't even say left or right correctly & thinking they were right.
I once picked up a Malay aunty.
She speak to me in Malay which I don't know.
Told their that and guess what she said.
"Don't you speak to your mother?"
I told her "aunty, I speak to my mother in Chinese."
