Back in the early 2000s when I was night relief and diesel only 50+ cents, I used to pump esso while my hirer went to CDG.
That time price diff only a few cents but I could feel the difference in power of my crown when I took over in the evening.
Engine like louder and less power. I believe CDG diesel is the bare-bone version without all the performance-enhancing and engine cleaning additives.
What's the type of diesel fuel in this world?
http://blog.dieselpowerproducts.com/the-different-types-of-diesel-fuel
CDG buy in futures through third party who was awarded the contract on raw diesel fuel.
So as with global competitive prices, they could resell in discounted price to us.
The third party suppose to supply these diesel fuel in good hands according to the contract.
In open market, these third party offer their diesel fuel as such.
http://www.caltex.com.au/PRODUCTSANDSERVICES/Pages/ProductDescription.aspx?ID=1786
Is just one of the example quoted.
CDG buy in bulk, third party sell to end user with their own way of treatment. So do CDG buy diesel with treatment? I don't think so in business view, no way.
Very difficult to explain in words( I'm not good at that), but don't blame CDG for lower grade diesel, there isn't any in the world.

Experience drivers who used CDG diesel against other brands , will know the differences .
Power is one things , bubbles also another . Heard from Khoon on walkie talkie that day , he said Trans diesel also lots of bubbles .
Of course the chemical ingredient they added into the diesel , we dunno really .
CDG bought diesel from SPC if i am not wrong .

Ya last time SPC but recently see some ulu company tanker come refuel the kiosk instead of SPC. Maybe they tender to other ulu company cheaper.
This ulu oil truck is contractor lar , sub contract from SPC .
During those times that i pumped diesel (about 2 years back and earlier), i hv seen esso, spc and caltex trucks also.
I believe CDG, like all public listed co, ask for tenders from suppliers periodically. That way they can get their supply at competitive rates.
yeah i agree the company diesel lack power,i always pump with caltex, more power but dollar for dollar, less diesel in tank!
once in awhile go pump outside diesel like me 1 week pump
round 1/2 tank to "wash" the engine
Every week, add on this for a full tank of diesel..
Every month, after servicing, add on this after a new change of engine oil..
Cost? Not really much...for old taxi like mine, it works.
yah heard bout tis stp product remember buy the blue 1 not the red 1 guys...........
If anyone insist on company's cheaper diesel , do pump $2 petrol , any grade into diesel engine .
U will feel better performance .
Less noisy , and cleaner engine .
A cheaper way than buying diesel treatment stuffs from STP .

$2 petrol to diesel engine??? You mean $2 outside diesel is it.
It use to be one full tank of outside diesel roughly different around +-$4, so that time, I also pump outside, after that, pick up 1 pax, start meter recover liao.
Recently, a full tank different is close to +-$10, if once a while,no problem, sometime I did pump also, but can't be everyday issue, it will add on to our misery.
Btw, if you join association, every time you pump at CDG, they will offset certain amount to your Medisave, in long run, benefit us, especially when time to renew TDVL. Don't need to worry on toping up our Medisave. So far, outside station only Caltex have some scheme on Medisave, so even I pump outside, also choose Caltex.
Certainly, better grade of diesel will give you better performance, each grade go thru a process, it is like filtering the dirt away, and make it more pure, being pure, it will not leave much residue in your engine piston, piston rings and liner.
However, most cab are built with a diesel heavy duty engine, the liner wall are more rough and piston rings are more thicker.
The fuel efficiency failed in a sense or so called less powerful is when the piston rings and the liner wall interference get bigger, chinese say, lau hong, instead of full combustion power, the burnt diesel escaped thru the gap between the rings and the liner, this happen after a period of 2 to 3 years on the road, more black smoke come out of the exhaust is due to such problem, wasted diesel and yet no power.
The remedy is to change piston rings to bigger size in diameter to close the gap, you hv to remove the top engine block cover, remove all fuel injector, crank the engine mannually, to raise the piston above the liner, then change, at the same time, flush the engine clean.
Confirm Bro bowah is an Engine Near..
Knn, stand near the engine only sweat liao, no need sauna, I am better than engine near ok, just no certificate, cb, see those FT engineer blur like fark, end up I also have to guide them, knn, they all fake certs one, cb PAP, get conned

That day pick up 1 ang moh's engine near from Keppel Fel, half way journey, start to comment on my old Mercedes, this la, that la, must change this la, must replace that la.
Than suddenly he heard ting ting sound, than he told me what bearing must change liao, than I told him actually is my phone alarm tone, after that he diam diam all the way.
i am saying it one more time
PUT $2 Petrol into mix with diesel !!
U'll see the power of difference .
My old shi fu taught me . . . not everyday , once every week .

haha yah agree with u bro nowadays all the FT engineer alot
juz japanese kung hu nia knn last time my car sent to 1 authorised
dealer to claim for warranty cause engine block gasket got leak that
guy try to snooke me say oil too much flow down frm engine oil cover
then i suan siao liao that hor engine oil can flow to all 4 sides of the gasket
when the cover is a slanted design hor he diam diam replace the whole
tin for me...................

but engine will be operating at higher temp!
shortens engine life, esp piston rings and soon will see black smoke....
ex-kakis ever did that and after some time, stallion became mule liao!

hahaha, oil rig ang mo knows nothing about engine lah, keppel fel are rig builder, not engine bulider, popular marine engine maker are MAN, Caterpillar, Roll Royce, Wartsila Sulzer, Daihatsu, Yamar, Hyundai, Akasaka Mitsubitsui, MAK, etc etc.
Singapore marine/shipyard are mostly repairer, conversion, overhauling at drydock, recondition and modification.

ang mo?? aiyah tok cock they best liao haha~~~~
There is this requirement call double hull on tankers, singapore are good in it, secured many contracts, as most older shiptankers are single hull and when accident, the leaking of cruel oil cos enivromental problem, the solution is double hull, a second hull to protect the hull of the ship.
Dunno Taxi can have a double outer body or not..more safe

Additives is good only for old engines, for new engines, please do not add any additives, it will worn out faster than you thought.
