Took new sonata 01/2010 490km plus, pass 18mths 3 times gearbox tio stuck, 1st time 1 day ok, 2nd n 3rd times 5 days. Just 2 days ago tio tow back again n then another 2days. How many bro driving sonata face the gearbox problem? I believe turbo charge will be next big problem soon.(BCL ever tell me 3 years his turbo up lorry)

my 1.5 yr old @ 265,000 km, gearbox stucked at 3rd gear cannot downshift.
Sat afternoon in, sunday morning out.
I think the problem is gearbox always dragging at 4th gear when speed is at 70 to 80 kmph without turbo (rpm at around 1300 to 1450 rpm).
Maybe maintaining turbo, whenever possible, in 4th gear may help prolong life of gearbox i.e maintain car at above 80 kmph (speedo reading) with rpm at slightly above 1500. I'm referring to facelift models.
I've driven several jap auto cars before and none has this kind of gear-dragging, macham like driving manual like that.
Some say over playing with overdrive (manual) also another cause to wear and tear of gear box.

This year 2012 not very good year for Sonata .
2 Sonata on fire .
2 got hit at Rochor , 1 dead .
Many gear box problems .
Cheap things dun come good .
Good things dun come cheap .
recently my ex-relief , his Sonata was sent to workshop 5 times in a month .
He called me up to ask about other brands of taxi to drive ?
Cos he expected CDG dun change any Sonata for him .
and a sonata involved in a RTA..
Cheap diesel also a caused for all problems .
CDG's diesel bulk purchase should be those lower grade type .
Lousy quality of diesel cause many problems not only to fuel injections , but other parts as well .
having a bad start for the year? use goodyear tyres...........
I strongly believe the diesel grade from Caltex , Shell , SPC etc is never be the same of those bulk purchase by CDG or SMRT .

Want me to list down CDG award the tender to which oil & petro company for each individual diesel kiosk...don't anyhow listen la, diesel is still a diesel and in facts is just a waste products that make good use to industries but spoilt the environment.....that's why CNG can come into pictures.
people don't call diesel as 油屎 for nothing.......
